Anthony “pronounce my last name any way you want and it’s still appropriate” Weiner, the liberal Democrat congressman from New York, is a piece of work. Here are a couple quotes from a recent CNBC interview that show just how out-of-touch he is with the average American:
“Medicare has actually been a pretty successful program. It’s got some financial problems, but as far as consumers are concerned, they like it.” Some financial problems? That’s like saying the Titanic had some ice problems.
“The real question is not, in my mind, should there be a public plan? I’m not quite sure what private insurance companies are bringing to the table. $200,000,000 a year go into overhead and profit that should be going into healthcare.” You tell ’em, Tony. We certainly wouldn’t want the purity of healthcare to be tainted by the profit motive, would we?
He also said that 100 other libs will vote against any plan that doesn’t include the single payer plan. Has anyone told President Obama that he can’t be a leader if he doesn’t have any followers?
Weiner. Wiener. Whiner. What’s the difference?

I'm sorry if i wasn't clear- I was referring to Weiner. That being said - I should have qualified my statements by saying "private sector" job. Sure Weiner may have performed some sort of service in the past before getting elected but there was no bottom line when he worked for Schumer; its the same for staff members of polticians or ACORN types or most communty organizations that partially or wholly funded by the government. These guys equate revenues that come from the government in the form of a grant etc are the same as revenues in a private organization - they are not. The government will give money to organizations that produce virtually nothing just because the orgs supposed purpose sounds like a good idea. Revenues in a for profit org come from consumers who are paying for something that is of real value.
Bottom line gov orgs will be propped up no matter how unneccesary or unsuccessful - a private org will go out of business. Gov employees get jobs through connections - merit isnt always inportant, gov employees, even "confidential" are ususally never fired for making bad decisions, gov employees are not accountable for failures - if the stated purpose of the gov funded org is not fulfilled there is no financial penalty to those who worked there and made decisions. Hence, the "experience" of working in the governemt and private sector is not the same.
Now on the other point you brought up - of course I think a politician's past "job" or "jobs" should be subject to coment. A community organizer, race pimp, professional agitator who lives off of gov grants and corpoarte shakedown money is exactly the kind of person who I do not want running the nation anymore.

I know this is somewhat of an ad hominem attack, but- what I dislike the most about this guy is the fact he NEVER had a real job in his life. Never started a business, hired people, fired people, tried to make a profit (oh my G-d that word evil pure evil) never had to worry about making payroll, paying rent etc. You get my angle. Like all politicians has no clue how the real world works - only their Palace of Versailles world where they spend 24 hours a day on intrigue while collecting taxes and living off the workers. He, like almost all pols of either party, do not understand economics, the concept of a money supply, inflation etc. I am truly sick of all of them. I would like to pick out a random bunch of people who are 1) taxpayers for over 20 years, 2) homeowners or business owners, 3) who have NO relatives in politics and draft them to work in congress - they get 161K per year or whatever their salary was in the private sector (if it was more) and tell them to govern. We would do better with that lot Im sure. I rant.
