Antoine Dodson: ‘The gay community — we have went from being bullied to becoming bullies’

Antoine Dodson: ‘The gay community — we have went from being bullied to becoming bullies’. Unlike whiner Adam Smith, below, this guy actually gets it.

CO2Insanity: Tired of the CO2 BS and all the other BS in the US and the world.

  • It's not "went", it's "gone". Please, lefties and righties, learn to speak (and spell) English correctly.

  • All the activists on the left are intolerant bullies. Their SOP is to use bully tactics to get their way. This minority, that minority, the environment, social justice, etc. And the liberal press amplifies their bullying to make it more intimidating.

  • As I posted in the article under this one, divorce is just as much of a sin as homosexuality, and churches (as well as individual Christians) commonly speak out against it; to preach that it is wrong; to hold counseling sessions and classes to help people avoid it - all without shrieking lunatics demanding apologies, without the lefty media playing the interview/set-up/pretend-to-be-shocked game.

A few other things that are sins: gambling, pornography, blasphemy, adultery (and even alcohol, tobacco and caffeine in the case of Mormonism). All these things Christians are "allowed" (by the left-wing culture) to condemn and counsel against without any reprisals.

But somehow homosexuality is separated out and placed on a pedestal - any denouncement of it being "hate."

The Christians in this country have let themselves be beat up about it, when they should have said from the start, "We condemn many things that are socially acceptable, and we will continue to preach against the sin of homosexuality; if you don't like it, then leave the church." ...And after giving the left that head start in the culture war, the Christians are going to lose more than they ever imagined.

    • Of course you're right, RKae, but the left in its never ending search for more victims likely set homosexuality aside because they were "born that way" and can't help it.

    • Liberals are all about free speech and tolerance when they perceive their position to be in the unpopularity minority. But when they perceive their positions as having become majority, their masks are ripped off and they bully. They have a few polls which show that gay marriage is viewed more favorable than unfavorably with the American public and so they overplay their hand. Whatever the polls say, I've noticed that in the secrecy of the voting booth, gay marriage has gone down virtually every time.

RKae:"A few other things that are sins ... even alcohol ... in the case of Mormonism"

I don't know much about Mormonism, but I've never understood the Christian thought that the use of alcohol is sinful. The abuse of alcohol can be viewed as objectively sinful and there are Scriptures which condemn alcohol abuse, but not it's reasonable use. Jesus' first miracle was turning water into wine. Jesus himself would have drank a bit of wine at table.

"Stop drinking only water, and use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent illnesses." - 1 Tim 5:23

"Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart, for it is now that God favors what you do." -Ecclesiastes 9:7

      • I myself don't drink alcohol, because I think it's "stupidity in a bottle." I think it's left a swath of death across the globe, and any benefits are wildly outweighed by the destruction it's caused. It's so easy to live without. It's like having a wild animal as a pet: not at all necessary, and the damage it causes when it gets out of hand is utterly insane.

(But my wife is a drinker and my best friend is a wine fanatic, so...)

The Bible left many bad things un-condemned - alcohol among them. I believe the Bible allows us all sorts of stupidities, just as God leaves us to our own decisions.

        • I don't like being around people who are drunk and acting stupid, so I agree with you there, RKae. I'm a very light drinker. I ask for a bottle of wine for Christmas and it lasts me 6-9 months. I've heard that wine can be helpful to the heart in moderation. I've never understood the people who condemn smoking and drinking but then say pot is okay. Wouldn't pot smoking be more dangerous than regular smoking? I've never smoked a cigarette in my life. I was scared away from ever trying one by my maternal grandfather's painful death from Lung Cancer/Emphysema. It was like Christ's Death Agony, he couldn't hardly breathe but he didn't die for quite a period of time.

    • BRAVO!! That was a brilliant and excellent point. I think I shall steal that point from you, if you don't mind.

      • Spread it around! I hope it gets lots of mileage.

At my church, the music director was close to getting fired for cheating on his wife. I wish he HAD been fired. (That's how I voted.) Imagine if he had been fired (or nearly fired) for being homosexual! Yikes! That would've been national news! But why would that be any more "discrimination" than firing a guy for adultery? Both adultery and homosexuality are sins according to the tenets of the religion while being legal (and celebrated) in secular society. It's just that one has a vocal and unyielding activist army.
