AP: This US summer is “what global warming looks like.” And this AP story is what agitprop looks like. When the media use a word (such as “climate” or “weather”) it means just what they choose It to mean, neither more nor less. Ah, go fall off a wall, eggheads.

Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages.   • Hot? HA! It's average, and maybe a little cooler than average, here. Well, there are highs in the 100's, but it's freaking Texas in July! We're used to it!

    The US covers 20 degrees of latitude and 120 degrees of longitude. Over that kind of area, it's generally expected somewhere will have record breaking highs or lows any given year. Of course, you never hear about the normal temperatures. That just wouldn't be interesting.

  • It is amazing to see how solidly these green idiots have convinced themselves AGW is real. The global warming propaganda really works on the weak minded, like the Jedi mind trick in Star Wars. Every fluctuation of the weather, absolutely normal according to easily accessible public records, is used as further evidence that something unusual is going on. Like a young child believing in monsters under the bed is convinced every sound in the dark of night is from the monster. Amazing. And the people telling us we should believe this too fancy themselves as the SMART ones. Hahahahahahhahaha.

  • Summer hasn't arrived yet (and spring barely has) where I am, so it all balances out. And it isn't "climate change" or whatever, it is called "El Nina" and it has been cycling forever and ever. Don't contribute when AP passes around the collection plate this Sunday.

    • If the Associated Press was based in Seattle, they would be reporting an ice age is on the way.

  • This reminds me of my local paper in upstate New York several years ago. One year, we had a mild winter with hardly any snow. The local paper said, "This is proof of global warming." The next winter was colder than normal and we got record snowfall. The paper's reaction: "Scientists also tell us that global warming can lead to record cold and snowfalls as well."
    And they wonder why people aren't believing their junk science anymore...

  • If you REALLY want to "see what global warming looks like," look at their computer models. That's the only place you're going to find it.

          • GW does exist, to what degree is debatable but you can't deny that it is out there to some extent. And corporate greed is doing nothing to help stop it all for the sake of profit.

          • 20,000 years ago, Missouri was half covered by glaciers. Pretty much everything north of that was completely covered by ice. The ice receded due to global warming.

            Was that caused by corporate greed?

            Of course not. There were no corporations back then. So if corporate greed was not a possibility, then I'm sure you would agree there was some other cause.

            When did THAT cause end, and the corporate greed kick in as the cause of GW?

            How and by whom was that change of causes determined?

          • Basically, post industrial revolution is when global warming started to get worse. Coincidentally, around the same time that many of today's major corporations started up.

            Hence the corporate greed.

          • So an icecap recedes from Missouri to the Arctic Ocean, and that GW was not as bad as icecaps receding a few miles, then reforming, then receding a few miles again.

            And on top of that, making a comparison of 20,000 years of climate change with 150 years' worth of fluctuations, with that 150 years coming immediately after a period of time called "The Little Ice Age", is scientifically and statistically meaningless.

            (Which "Little Ice Age, i might add, is completely denied by the warmists in their infamous hockey stick graph. That is not denial of science. That is denial of reality)

            You're delusional. You're stuck on this corporate greed obsession like a short-circuited calculator, and everything you see and hear is warped and re-configured to fit into this dogma of yours.

            And BTW, what was the cause of all the global warming prior to the industrial revolution?

            I'm pretty sure my first real record (as opposed to those funny plastic "records" on the Fisher Price player) was the soundtrack to Mary Poppins. I can remember buying it at a garage sale with a quarter I got from the tooth fairy. :)

Unless you're livng in a cave scavenging berries and carrion, you're part of the problem you accuse others of exacerbating. You need to turn off your computer because it uses electricity.   • I live in Souther California and the weather has been perfect. Guess those enviro-pagans pick and choose their claims according to where the weather is being fickle.
