Maybe their EPA requires special lighting on hamburger stands.
OMG, the insanity called EPA has spread from this planet? That's going to take all the fun out of space travel.
So if Pluto isn't a planet anymore, how does Ceres suddenly become a planet?
Dwarf planet, not planet. Pluto is considered a dwarf planet now, too. The biggest one is Eris, then Pluto -- I think Ceres is fifth in size. But Ceres is the closest since it's in the asteroid belt so that's the one we can send a ship to and study.
What makes a body a dwarf planet instead of a planet? Well, that's what everybody is arguing about. They're big enough to be considered planets, but for whatever reason they haven't "cleared the neighborhood around their orbit." Earth, for example, isn't traveling in the company of asteroid clusters because over the years Earth's gravity has sucked them all in and swallowed them. Ceres, in the asteroid belt, has way too much debris to clear and Pluto, so far out there it takes years to orbit the sun, has too large of a field to clear. The poor little thing takes about 250 years to make one orbit -- pretty hard to clean your bedroom at that pace.
One more thing: this NASA mission to Ceres is exciting, as exciting as the missions to Mars. Mankind is traveling to another planet and setting up camp there (in orbit). Cool stuff.
And maybe those two lights are a marooned alien signaling for help.
Let's send Obama there to be king.
And all the Muslims to be his subjects.
Or the skylights over an alien city occupying the center of the planet.
"The thing's hollow — it goes on forever — and — oh my God! — it's full of stars!"
Unlock the Pod Bay Doors Hal........
Since they are white lights clearly it's a racist dwarf.
A racist dwarf... hmm. Instead of joining the KKK he joins the KK? Instead of a white sheet, he wears of white pillowcase?
That's no dwarf planet . . .
That’s no dwarf planet . . .
Correct, it prefers to be called a "little person" planet.
Small in stature planet, and it is asking for a handicapped parking spot placard from DMV.
Whatever it is Global warming caused it.
Maybe it was a lack of Jobs, did you ever think of that? :)
Yeah. No.
No iPads on Ceres, is that what you're saying?
No jobs there? The planet must be loaded with jihadis. Since AGW causes terrorism, as does lack of jobs, ...WHOA.
Frozen something reflecting light? If this was Uranus I would say it's Obama's ancestral home..
Actually, it's a marker that points out the location of Obama's college transcripts.
We still won't see them, because the ship has been ordered to ignore it.
Good one! (In my very best Horshack voice)
You mean Reggie Love's, not mine.
You got it...well I mean you got the joke... :)
