HEY! Good news! In Africa the HIV virus has mutated - now it's passed to women more than men. Just regular hetro sex with someone who is active with multiple partners can gain you a ticket on the HIV train.
From what I've read, there are several different varieties. The results are all the same, it's the ease of acquiring the virus that makes the difference.
In America you can teach anything you want about sex to our children -- just DO NOT teach abstinence! But the liberals love humanity - just not the man or woman standing in front of them.
The problem in Africa is that the men leave their villages to work in larger cities. While there, they take comfort in the local women. Whether or not they test, and if they test, whether or not they they are positive, they refuse to use condoms, and also refuse celibacy, or even limiting to one woman. If they are positive, they bring it home to their wives, who must have relations with them, and who are beaten nearly to death if they try to use a female condom. When they both die of AIDS, there are thousands of AIDS orphans left, whom no one will take in, as they fear the disease. THe pattern repeats. Ethically, I applaud resonably priced meds, etc to treat. But a practical part of me wonders why we are spending a fortune keeping victims alive who seem determined to continue to alter and spread the disease. THe longer they live, the more they infect.

Antigen tests rapidly disclose the presence of antigen (ANY antigen) in the body, that is the marker of anything the immune system has been exposed to. Since immune response takes several days to several weeks to develop antibodies, they don't show immediately. Another reason why retesting is recommended. Seems t me you are trying to muddy the waters of some hard earned scientific information on the identity, the tranference and the outcome of AIDS, though I cannot imagine your goal or agenda.

Truly, I would not be surprised to see congress allow Obama to have another term of office in the White House -- perhaps even to expand the length of the elected Presidential office to 6 or 8 years per term.
