When Springsteen entered the arena of political commentary he cemented his validity by stating that he had an integrity and it was tied to the fact that he had gone 25 years without such commentary. Being that it had been nearly so long since he’d put out a decent album -and such fabled integrity could not be applied to his artistry- we thought it might be all the better if the Boss just shut up and counted his money. We still do. Although with Obama era inflation there is probably a good bit less of it now than there was just three years ago.
