How Bogart & Bacall were duped by Hollywood communists. In 1947 the two superstars, along with a bunch of other Hollywood names, charged into the House Committee on Un-American Activities to support colleagues who were accused of being communists. When they got there, they found out those colleagues really were communists.

Senator Joe McCarthy had it right and the media began its campaign to paint him as seeing reds everywhere he looked. He was looking at the reds and knew who they were and it was the media and others who wanted no part of exposing those who were staunch communist in Loonywood.
As for Coulter, her backing of RINOs is getting old and she has become just another beltway blow hard who has stopped living in the real USA.
"Blacklisted by History" by M. Stanton Evans should be required reading in all schools. It tells how Senator Joe McCarthy was ever so maligned but ever so right.
Ann Coulter said it was the greatest book ever written after the bible.
The takeaway here is nothing has changed in Hollywood.

He wasn't terribly bright. Some may remember a very dynamic and charismatic Catholic cardinal, Fulton Sheen, who published many popular books and had a TV show in the 50s. One of his books recounts a visit from Bogart, who notes the many books about the Cardinal's house; Sheen says he got his love of books from his father.
