Ball State University imposes gag order on faculty

• Though it is looked down upon by the scientific community, credible science is beginning to prove an intelligent design behind the universe. Remember that in the Old testament, it states we were made in Gods's image. As a Neurologist I am learning now that conscousness actually exists on the subatomic-quantum level. And some interesting experiments now show how some quantum interactions work in an apperent conscoius level. So if God exists at some form in the quantum level- and are brains do the same- we are at one with the creator.

  • I think the problems started when in tbe image of Go d became looking physically like God. I think our souls and minds are in his image, notour physical appearance. Our bodies are likesuits, andwill be discRded when our souls no longer have use for them.

    • Yeah exactly. Our bodies are representatives of the tents that were used when the Israelites inhabited the desert on their way to the Promised Land. If we take the story on a solely spiritual level, humans are in bondage, some are set free (they come to belong to G-d), but they still have to deal with the world and its issues, sins and the appetites of the flesh. They live in tents, once they reached the Promised Land (Heaven) the tents are then replaced by permanent buildings built with rocks and what not. If anything one can say that believers are in the desert stage and our bodies are the tents of the soul within.

      Jesus came to Earth yes and looked like us, but no where did He state that He looks like that ALL the time. He could very very well have an ENTIRELY different look and if we read Revelations and Daniel and Isaiah for that matter it makes perfect sense that He DOESN'T necessarily looks "human" on a "day to day" basis outside of this Planet or even when came to visit before His actual birth or who knows when He comes to visit even perhaps now. When He came back from death, people that were with Him and even family members didn't recognize His physical self at first. The recognition that came after, in my opinion was more about His spiritual "self" more than His physical self.

      I believe that there are other worlds out there, He could very well look like "them" whenever He chooses to go there wherever there is. He could even have an "angel" look or persona and angels don't necessarily have to look "human" either.

      I do think that the idolatry of the flesh is at fault at what you are stating since this is essentially what we can "see" and "touch". We can't "see" quantum levels nor "touch" it. Many people are into the finite and that leads to us believing that our physical is the image He speaks of and indeed that is not correct in my opinion. The way we look is essential for "this" reality and "this" world as per His creation, in another world we could look completely different and still be in His image. If an extra terrestrial "person" came to visit and he or she does not look human how could we state they are not in His image?

• There was a time when Theology - the study of God - was considered the "Queen of Sciences". In other words, God was to be our highest goal, and all other sciences were subordinate to that goal. I think a lot of this nonsense started with Marx and Engels in the 1800s. True science, not that sponsored by State or Academia, seeks the truth, whatever that might be.

  • Given the name of the university, one would think it would be reversed - the women smacking the men.

• Well there goes the myth that all points of view are welcomed on campuses. If you spout off crazy and or bizarre statements the more protection and advocacy you will receive from the power brokers in academia, like sister bird and brother donkey. Let someone stands on their Christian principles they are mocked, ridiculed, and told that they must not ever do that again. In some cases they are forced to apologize to the so call offended. Time to grow up kiddies, there are all kinds of beliefs and views. Just because you dont agree with someone's views, it does not give you the right to bitch and moan about having your little feeling hurt. GET OVER IT and GET OVER YOURSELF, you are not that important.

• I'd like to see someone try a lawsuit against schools which teach hysterical warmism - as advocates of the Gaia cult and therefore pushing their religion.

  • I would like to see about 100 million parents tell their kids NO! I'm not wasting money to see you get indoctrinated instead of educated.

• I'm confused how a university could get federal funds (& all student loans are now federalized under Barky the First) and not have to uphold the First Amendment. I bet it would be way different if the tables were turned.

• They should just come out and say that they must stick with the State Sponsored political narrative. To do otherwise might result in (The Horror) loss of one's tenure.

• Why do parents send their kids to these places? I always thought a "university" was a place to go to hear all different kinds of theories and ideas, not just one viewpoint on anything like science, math, history, languages, evolution, theocracy, any and all ideas were welcome. Apparently that is no longer true, colleges have become indoctrination centers instead of places for higher learning.

  What this boils down to is liberals hate the idea of someone teaching kids to think for themselves. Here is one theory, here is another, study both, think about both, then reach your own conclusion. Universities today tell their students "this is my opinion and you better like it if you want to graduate." Isn't there some kind of law that says universities will have their gooberment funding cut if they push one political idea over another? It's something for the parents who paid big money for their kids to go to Ball State to think about.

  • Universities have devolved into employment centers at best. Take the right courses graduate in apaying field and you're set. It drives me wil d that college graduates in the public eye cannot speak correctly in English, much less write intelligibly. And they learn just enough of core courses to pass,forgetting everything as the walk out the door after the fin a l. An d for this even state schools are charging a quarter of a million dollats.

  • No, sadly. The Founders were adamant about not getting the State involved in education for the very reason that we're having this discussion right now.
