In the time-honored bait-and-switch tradition of the Democrat party, Baltimore’s Mayor Sheila Dixon is on trial for using holiday gift cards that were donated to the needy for her own personal shopping sprees.
“Dixon, 55, will put her political future in the hands of a jury Monday, when her trial on theft charges begins. She’s accused of asking wealthy developer pals to donate gift cards worth thousands of dollars, saying they would be given to poor families — then using them to buy electronics at Best Buy, clothes at Old Navy and knickknacks at Target. If convicted, she would be tossed out of office.”
Dixon, often called a “classic” Democrat, also faces perjury charges. Turns out she didn’t report gifts from her ex-boyfriend, a real estate developer who got tax breaks from the city.
Dixon, whose salary is $151,700, has assembled a high-priced team of seven attorneys. She refuses to say how she’s able to pay her exorbitant legal bills, but it’s rumored that she shopped around for attorneys who would accept Target gift cards in lieu of cash.
Dixon, said to be in need of a new Winter wardrobe and a home entertainment center, has stated she won’t let these allegations interfere with her fund raising efforts for the poor.

One word: Dirt-bag. They should take all that she has, sell it and give the money to the poor. Typical liberal thinking. Use and abuse the poor to get more money for your own pockets. I have a relative outside of Baltimore. I've heard all the stories of corruption! Especially during presidential elections. The city needs to rise up and run the crooks out of town.

She's just following the traditions of other Democratic mayors in Baltimore. Heck, it's pretty much a tradition of the entire liberal leadership.
First of all, where did she buy the hounds tooth jacket? It is more stylish than the upholstery Mrs. Dear Leader has been sporting. But really, where did Dixon shop? Looks like she spends her ill gotten gains at the same joints I frequent, but I have never found a coat like hers. This time of year gift cards come my way and I just wanted to put in an early request for the right boutique. And oooooh baby, those over-sized faux pearls are just too sweet.
BTW - being open-minded I will assume she was framed until her staff of attorneys fail to defend her, but what a stinking POS for taking from the rich, telling them she is going to give it to the poor, and then shopping at places like Old Navy and Target! She isn't very good at this is she? I have a friend that would be wearing at least a Nordstrom wardrobe with that kind of access to gift cards - she knows how to buy up!
