The phrase “black Republican” used to be an oxymoron. But here in 2010, highly-qualified black candidates all across the country have abandoned the Democrat Plantation and are running as – gasp – conservative Republicans.
Check out this video. It’s a clarion call to other black voters: “Vote Republican. For the very first time.”

Star Parker is my favorite......
Yeah but I guess she didnt win?
It's California. It's very common for them to not pick the best candidate. Need I list examples?
I just feel bad for the good people of California that have to be absolutely dumbfounded and dismayed by the rabble that actually get elected (by the rabble) to office.
The "majority" loooove the pain, over there or are just too oblivious to feel it. That or they're voting for handouts no one can afford to pay...
I got to say I cannot garner much sympathy for California dwelling folks. It is a nice place to VISIT for a few days but after a few days it is time to go. I do feel bad for those that WANT their state to go back to where it was, but in my estimation it is a losing battle and Jerry Brown and others who are back into play just proves it that California should be asked to secede and pronto. The folks that are not crazy should leave it. It is dragging the rest of us down.
That's right, you guys, keep piling on and making us even more miserable about the fact that we live in Kalifornia. Man, this place was a paradise when our parents moved here, but it is becoming something unrecognizable.
Mr. Editor, you know that I live in reality and I say it as I see it, so please do not take any offense: You can pack Mrs. Editor and Little Baby/Children Editors in a car and move elsewhere. No one is making you stay... California may have been an awesome place back in the day, but now is filth and I am sorry to say I cannot garner much pithy for folks who live there, even for the folks who ain't crazy. I KNOW that not ALL folks are morons, but one just has to look to California to see that the majority of the people there are crazy fools and the best thing to avoid being infected by crazy fools is to move. I used to live in Massachusetts... NOT ANYMORE. There ain't no amount of money nor promises of prestige that would be enough for me to move back to that state. It is plagued with crazy fools, I am not one so I moved it was not an easy process but it was a doable process. I am sure that you and Mrs. Editor can find gainful employment and vocations in other parts of the country where there are LESS crazy fools. And there are so many beautiful places with great weather in other parts of the country as well. Just sayin'.
I don' disagree with a word you say, and I would leave this state in a minute if I could get Mrs Editor to agree. I think I'm making progress in that effort. This just isn't the paradise I grew up in. And I say that despite the fact that Mr & Mrs Administrator and Mr & Mrs Editor live in the most beautiful, unspoiled part of the state.
I understand and good luck on that and I hope that when the time is right you both take that step out of the state and find yourselves a beautiful, unspoiled part of some other state where there aren't a great number of crazy fools in it. When I left MA I felt like a human being again. Liberal zombies make horrible neighbors. I cannot advocate talented hard working moderate/conservative people leaving that state enough. Voting Barney Frank in again?! Disgusting...
Aw, man, I have sympathy for you and admin and everyone else on this board that lives there. My point was it sucks that the good folks in that state have to live by the decisions made by a bunch of idiots. It's just sad.
Like I said, in a different post, I think it's a beautiful place (especially the area just north of San Diego)--ya'll just gotta whip the losers into line... Or do a good purging...
Yeah, it is beautiful there. I've lived in several areas from Del Mar to Carlsbad.
But it just got too crowded and escaped to the paradise of San Luis Obispo (well, with the exception of politics). Just had lunch on the cliffs at Shell Beach in 80 degree weather-amazingly beautiful.
Wow, that's too bad--I really liked the area around Oceanside--very beautiful. Seemed pretty isolated, when I last visited a long while ago. So now you're up near Pismo Beach which is an area I've only been to a couple times. Given the proximity (within a couple hundred miles) to San Fran, I can see how the politics wouldn't set well with you.
Gotta say I'm happy for you on the lunch at Shell Beach (beautiful place) and especially on the nice weather. Wasn't the best, here, in SC--60ish and wanting to rain. I think it'll straighten up for the weekend, though.
Besides, after yesterday (and all my picks winning), I have a hard time complaining ;-)
All the best to you Californians who are fighting the good fight.
V/R,
SCDiver
I've been purging since they called it for Jerry Brown.
Hahhah--I know what you mean, there, but it'd be nicer if you could purge the people that voted for moonbeam!
Every time I visit the USA I cant get my head around this black - white divide thing. It's very strange, I just don't get it.
This old black man in the US was asking my wife if there are black people in Australia! All he wanted to know. She was taken back, we don't give a rip about skin colour it's not something we really think about. And how do you handle the part black person, do they fall through the cracks or get impaled on the dividing fence?
I understand where you are coming from, however the history of Australia and its treatments of the "black" people of Australia (aborigines) is not all flowers and rainbows. They have black skin even if the equivalent is Native American here which in essence leads us to the same situation. It is very easy to come here and judge, by not paying attention to what is going on at home. I think that it is fair to say that this country has issues, but your own country has a very dark and sordid history on its treatments of minorities so if you don't get it look to your home and I am sure if you open your mind to the truth you will.
I find it interesting to see the influence of the media on people's thinking, how they accept as fact 'history' that is portrayed to them on the boob tube, in the papers and the cinema.
And of course I didn't mention anything about the USA's treatment of blacks, as far as I am aware they are treated as equal by the government for many years there now.
The situation here is what someone above said... either you are just a liberal trying to start something stupid or you are just stupid. Either way I am over it.
Very strange...treatment of Aboriginal people in Australia has been horrible to say the least... I don't know what you are talking about not caring about skin color, or anything else that makes someone different.
Aborigines in Australia do not have it good at all.
Before you pass judgement of the state of affairs here, straighten things out back at home first.
I have many friends from Australia, New Zealand, as well as all over Europe, and have served all over the world, and in the current wars with many fine soldiers from there.
For all of the fine qualities one may find in the Queen's subjects, sadly, abject racism is one that is not so fine. What is with the anti-Semitism prevalant there anyway?
Just saying, don't criticize us until you clean up your act at home. Unless, you are, as previously suggested, just using the ruse of being from Australia and are a troll. In which case, I would suggest something anatomically difficult, if not impossible, involving your north and south poles.
If you are the real deal, no offense, just keep things in perspective.
P.S. The Aussie military women in the Middle East are smoking hot!!!
Hello idaho2run what John and yourself don't get is that the equivalent of the Australian Aborigine in North America is the American Indian (or Native American if you prefer) not the 'African Americans'.
Historically and in general the Aborigines have actually been (and are) treated very generously in fact, unfortunately they have been killed with kindness via excessive welfare thanks to too much socialism. The stories of really bad treatment would by rubbish you have picked up from the liberal media. For example they claimed a whole generation was 'stolen' from their parents, turned out this never happened and they can't even find half a dozen cases to support this claim.
In other words you got conned by the media I'm afraid. Don't trust the media!
Give me a break dude. Yea the Australians have treated the Aborigines like brothers and you never even noticed what color they were, yea uhhuh.
Yes I had two Aborigines working for me at one point and they never got treated different to others. For whatever reason the divide seems much more significant in the US but you won't notice unless you travel about a bit I guess. Thought Obama was gonna fix all that too....
Well that's real nice of you not to treat them any different. I guess then that makes you are a morally superior Australian.
No I just think an advert appealing for black people to vote for black candidates because they are black is silly, but to you apparently not so that makes it good.
But to a supposed "Australian" most likely American liberal troll, voting for a democrat because they are a democrat makes more sense. If indeed you are a Australian mind your own buisiness and try to better the lives of Aborigines.
I love it, I hope more non whites become aware. Wonder what kind of moronic things Stewart, Cobert , Olbermann and Mathews would say about Conservative Blacks.
Stewart will not touch that because he knows better. Dont know about the others (Colbert may not but he is a moron).
Great ad!
Also, the National Black Republican Association has a good website...very informative for all Americans.
I've seen that--and you're right. Opened my eyes quite a bit...
So the question I have is: Will the new Black Republicans elected to office be extended an invitation to join the Congressional Black Caucus? I can't wait for the Donk heads to explode trying to explain this conundrum....
The smart money says "No way, mofo! Them 'publicans ain't the right kind of Black. "
And... they would more than likely actually say it in that way at least to themselves.
Awesome point and I can only imagine it will be a very uncomfortable situation for the "tolerant party". I hope the newly elected tell them to take a hike...
Come back home indeed... I am an independent but I do know the roots of the party. It is time to go back to those roots...
I hope Star Parker makes it. She is AWESOME!!
A lot of these men be looking fine too!
Hey, KQ, if I said something like that you'd want Mrs Editor to whack me over the head with a bottle of olive oil. I think I see a double standard here.
Well the main difference is that I am not, after all, married. I am single honey so I get to look and approve ;-) with respect which is due to these fine men of course lol.
Once I get a husband I will of course respect him and keeps such comments to myself or else don't look :-D. Well at least avert my eyes a bit...
Nothin' wrong with looking, Kimmy. Mrs Editor even points the good looking ones out to me.
So that's why Mrs. Editor is always pointing at me!
Oh puh-leeeze !! ;-)
oooooooooohhh zing!
To quote Kimmy Queen, "Ewwwwww."
:-)
