I never bought into it, worked hard for over thirty years, put myself through university and am now a retired medicinal chemist and pharmaceutical researcher. I am also a loud mouth black conservative who is most definitly 'off the plantation'...

I'm very proud of you SIR. I know how twisted some of these Al Sharptons let on that it's all the gubment and whiteys fault about this and that. NOT TRUE. I grew up in the SOUTH where a black person was looked down on even though some of my best friends were black. My father wouldn't attend my wedding when he found out that a black man would marry my wife and I (going on 26yrs.) He was respectable, he was educated. He taught at ASU. He had majored in 3 different fields. He was smart. So, the garbage being told to black people that they don't have a chance is such a LIE. People have to dream and make it come true. I've done that myself. Never give up.

Holy Mother of God! I just read your short bio and am at a loss for words! Your story is one that will likely only be found on a conservative blog, because it completely flys in the face of liberal politics, and the lamestream media won't acknowlege it.
Had our resident libtard Olivia read that, she would be screaming and accusing you of lying, all because of one statement:

She has argued here many times that it was Republicans that fought desegregation, not Democrats. Your life experience would be discounted by her, and you might even be accused of being a white man masquerading as black.

Kudo's to you, my friend. One can only imagine the out-right hate from both ends of the political spectrum which you have had to endure for quite some time. Can't tell you the number of thoughtful, intelligent and successful Black individuals I've met over the years who have had to remain "sub rosa" in their Conservative beliefs in order to exist within their circle of family, friends and the "Plantation" of Liberal politics.
For what it's worth on a Message Board, you have my undying respect and admiration for breaking from the mold.

Yeah I know lots of 18-20 year olds of all races and none of them can find work.
Funny my youngest son (after motivation from dad) went out and got hired at the first job he applied for. Just delivering auto parts, but beats sitting on his ass doing nothing. My daughter works two jobs. She just got hired at the 2nd one the other day, first shot. Both restaurant jobs, both high end places, too. She is good and makes lots of tip money that she's saving for law school. This is in California, land of high unemployment.
Oh, my eldest son's girlfriend, just got hired at Lawrence Livermore Labs, a couple of weeks ago. Turned an intern position into full time employment with benefits.

Yup, seems like it is the college aged student and the fifty something's who are having the toughest time out there right now.
How much do you want to bet that the $7.00 + minimum wage has a lot to do with youth unemployment?
Sadly Blacks lead the unemployment parade but it's a big parade, with lots of unemployed Whites, Hispanics, middle aged folks and college graduates in the ranks, marching in step towards the 2012 election. I wonder how they'll vote.
I think one reason black unemployment is high is because black teens don't finish school and don't acquire job skills. There aren't many employers who will hire a drop out. I thought Obama was supposed to inspire black children to value education, stay in school and excell. I don't see that happening. Doing well in school was being like "whitey" (we were called honkey then) way back when I was in high school, back in the 70's. It is so much worse now and Obama hasn't done a damn thing to change that mindset.
Actually, hispanics have the highest drop out rate, then blacks. .Whites aren't that far behind.

Yes, They are very hard workers and do quaility work in all fields I have seen them working in, whether it's construction, restaurants, clothing alterations, grocery stores, etc.; the list could go on.
Two and a half years in office and still no experience.
