• Wow this has gotten out of control

• As a fairly regular train rider I, too, have a tendency to take up both seats,and sleep on the way to.my destination. That''s with a half empty train. Over the holidays, the train is generally packed and the conducter announces you only paid for one seat. If you spread out, you willbe charged for the second seat and removed from the train at thenext stop. Let her deal with THAT!

• The left has always been racist.

• I went to read some of the comments, and never got past the first one. It was just TOO perfect. I quote,....

  Consider, if you will, how you would react if you were to desperately need to find a seat (perhaps even for medical reasons) on such a conveyance, and the only space available was beside a wide-hipped, space-hogging, encamped white male (or any other person, for that matter).

  Consider, if you will, that such a person was not only spread out like a toad upon a comfortable warm rock, but had the sheer audacity to behave as if the crowded, jostling, public conveyance were in fact his personal office space, in which everyone and everything were required to lend themselves to his comfort and functionality, and thus he was hard at work on a laptop computer, elbows out-thrust, and oblivious in the most solipsistic, self-absorbed manner, engaged in his own pursuits in this crowded environment.

  Consider, if you will, that this inconsiderate, presumptive individual were wearing headphones, and repeatedly either did not hear your request to squeeze past his voluminous mass and sit down, or else pretended not to hear those requests and ignored you (perhaps even being so utterly self-asborbed and socially stunted that it was not clear which of these scenarios happened to be the case).

  Consider, if you will, that your thoughtful attempt to stabilize the property of this socially-inept, rude and presumptive buffoon were to be met with an imperious attitude of “how DARE you touch my property,” as if you were a lower form of human being, an upstart, an insect.

  Consider, if you will, what your reaction would be to this arrogant white guy, who would “obviously” be exhibiting the vilest form of “white privilege” if he acted in such a manner.

  Consider, if you will, that your presumptive, arrogant, aggrieved, authoritarian assumptions are in fact very revealing indicators of not only your own blatant rudeness and racism, but of inadequacies in other areas, intellect and comprehension being among them. There are others, but I’ll leave that to you to figure out.

  Consider, if you will, that perhaps your rant was intellectually dishonest, your reasoning severely flawed, and your “ability” to empathically “know” the motivations of others seriously lacking.

  Consider, if you will, that what you experienced on the train was simply this: On such a public mode of transportation, you’re just another colorless cog in the machinery, with no special privileges over and above any of the other cogs… Just another self-absorbed meat-sack, filled with fluids, on your way to a servile destination.

  In other words, you’re a member of a color-blind society. Color-blind from all directions but one. Congratulations.

  ...the new thing (& it's not that new) is to fuse Marxism with race & gender issues. It is being used to bludgeon everyone into submission to accept their BS. I can tell you all I shall never conform to the likes of people like this. I will also add that Brittney Cooper (& people like her) adds no value to our society. She should be nowhere near our educational system, & is now front & center as to why we need to eliminate gender studies programs. We don't need more entitled, bitter, hyper sensitive, knee jerk, racially biased agitators, & we are paying her good money to spread this crap to our kids. BTW, this is her Facebook page...
