• I wonder if the bad guys will drive Prius's?

  • Sure Toyota drivers are bad. They compete with government motors.

    • Prius drivers must have to pass a stupid test before they buy one. Used to be the Volvo drivers but they about all traded them in on Prius's so we have a new group holding up traffic going 58 in the fast lane with a death grip on the steering wheel. Occasionally one will pass me up driving like he stole it doing 85-90 but that's a rare occasion.

      • Not to disparage you, but I didn't think that car could go that fast, or was it on a 5 mile long 20% downgrade with a Cat 5 Hurricane pushing it?

• If the volt burst into flames all on its own.....I dont see it ending well during any chases involving hostile fire.

• Look at the bright side, at least nobody will try to steal them.

• Imagine Popeye Doyle chasing the bad guys in a Volt. Electrifying.

• Wonder if the fire department gets extra training in hazardous material fires?

• Thank heavens I live in ND, where sanity rules 90% of the time and the oil industry gives us a surplus budget and a 3.2% unemployment rate. And I have
  never seen a Chevy Volt !

  • They don't do well at thirty below...:)

• Actually there are some legitimate uses for these Volts:
  1 - they can be used for police escorts for Chairman O's limousines when he come to NYC for his weekly ( or is it bi-weekly? I forget) fundraisers
  2 - the food police can use them to check out restaurants where reports of people salting their food may have taken place
  3 - the smoke patrol can use them to hunt down anyone that would have the nerve to burn actual tobacco anywhere in the city

  PC service and protection requires a PC clean energy vehicle

• I can see it now. Winter in NYC, cops using the heater to keep warm. They get a call for a bank robbery. Try to go to the scene of the crime, and find out the battery is dead!
  Another clean getaway.

  • or green getaway.

• So if they try to pull you over for speeding, all you have to do is run for it and wait until the cop car's tiny little auxiliary motor kicks in because the battery is dead, whereupon you can get away clean.

• Are the voters in NY this incredibly stupid, or, did this guy really put on a convincing campaign when he ran for office?

  • He bought it. But the people of the city had to be stupid enough to sell it to him.
