• The gas tax isn't the real play. The real play is an import tax on foreign oil to raise the price by a comfortable margin over the shale production cost. The revenue goes into green programs and deficit reduction. We were doing fine with $100 barrel oil, so why not set the floor there, will be the argument.

  The drillers are happy because they can make money. The greenies are happy because money will go to alternative energy. If you export goods based on oil they'll offer a rebate to keep our goods competitive overseas to get big business on board. 'Conservatives' can point to the deficit reduction.

  And you and I get screwed.

  I don't understand why they haven't floated this yet.

• There is no side for us in the two party system. We, the middle class, are f*cked. Adjust your perceptions and actions to that fact.

  • What two-party system? It's one party, call it the Republicrats or the Demicans. They're obviously all colluding and on the same one side of the fence.
