Boy, 10, tasered by police for failing to do what he was told after refusing to clean officer’s car at careers day. We’ve read this several times and we can’t believe it. Someone please tell us this boneheaded bully is not still a police officer. We see no mention of him being fired.

Don't start throwing shoes at me, but I wonder if the child was Indian? Either way, what the "officer" did was completely out of line. I mean does he think this will encourage some child to be a cop? He so should befired. Investigation my ass. What could the chil possibly have done to warrant getting tased?

Are mall security guards allowed to carry tasers? I hope not, there are a lot of children at the mall.
Also, I don't mean to degrade mall security guards, but obviously they don't go through the training of a police officer. Although I bet the random mall security guard would use far more sense than this.
Now that I've read the story, this guy is clearly not qualified to be a mall security guard. That position holds to much power and power clearly goes to this guys head. I think the only job this guy should hold is cleaning the seats at the porno movie theater.

WTF was this idiot thinking? You don't tase a 10 year old child (or any child), period. Tasers were designed to incapacitate out-of-control adults. If this story is correct, the "cop" should be fired and criminally charged.
I believe the child's family could certainly proceed with criminal charges against the Police Officer - assault for starters. However, a civil suit against the Officer would most likely place a larger, long lasting burden upon said "Officer." Doubtful he will ever be able to repay the civil award, but a civil lean against everything he should own in the future would certainly give the idiot something to ponder. Oh, and yes...he should be immediately released from employment by the City.

What a crock. This so called officer needs to be removed from office in a very unceremonial manner. Then he should be tried and if convicted, the dad gets to inflict the punishment.
There is no excuse for this. There was one that I've worked with who happened to pull over a country music star who was so drunk he couldnt stand up. The clown posted it on his my space page and the administration got a hold of it. Career over and all charges dropped.

It was just on the local news and no, the shithead has not been fired. He is on what we facetiously call "administrative leave" while the incident is under investigation.
In other words he will be getting paid to sit at home and after things calm down he will be transfered to some gem in the state, like Lordsburg. If any of you have ever cut across New Mexico on I-10 you have whizzed past Lordsburg and believe me, it ain't no oasis. Even then it's still too good for this fool, he should be fired and charged with child abuse.
