Buffalo Wild Wings Caught Adding ‘Obamacare’ Surcharge to Customer Checks… Wow. No wow from us we’d do the same thing. We think restaurants in locations like Seattle and Oakland, where the minimum wage has been raised, should put a minimum wage surcharge on their tabs and see how the liberals like it when they find out it’s their money that’s paying for the increase an not someone else’s.

While I support the fact that this business is showing its customers what the tax is and what it is for, I am beyond pissed off that we are paying for this load of $hit, THREE damn times!
FIRST, we have our federal tax, some of which goes to fund the subsidies. And if you live in a totally corrupt state like me, you have the anal pleasure of the state tax, no doubt which goes to the state subsidies.
SECOND, you have the 'adjustment', aka: rate hike to your former and or increase, in your 'new' insurance premium.
THIRD, is what we are seeing here, business passing the cost onto the consumers in the form of a tax.
Wouldn't grace the business before, now there's no way.
OK, a couple of problems with this.
1. The receipt says FL Surcharge Affordable Care.
This can't be in Florida, because there is no place in Florida that charges an 8.25% sales tax.
2. Even Snopes says it was just temporary, in Lubbock Tx.
3. This was in January. Why talk about it now, when it's no longer happening?
4. The link is a dead end.

People just need to pay attention to ALL of your expenses and bills. If you look at your phone bill, cable bill, internet bill, cellphone bill, even grocery bills in some areas you will find a litany of weird and repetitive taxes. Call the company (as I did) and ask them to explain to you these taxes, you might get one that under pressure will just tell you that these are government taxes and they are being passed on and the newest ones have to do with Obamacare. It is simple. It is plain. It is what it is. So what are we going to do about it?
I love this, & if the GOP, or more likely conservatives, should push for MANDITORY DISCLOSURE on all receipts & invoices telling you what the added costs of Obamacare are. Make people see it on the bill, & rub their noses in it.
Like the few gas stations these days that post a sign on the pumps, detailing how much of the per-gallon price is taxes? I'd love to see that everywhere.
Worst part is I bet they pull a Clinton and even make a tidy profit off the surcharge.

I wasn't talking just about Democrats and the like. If you think about it, there are many reasons why Obama won... twice. Overwhelming support by Democrats/Progressives and the like, but also because many Republicans stayed home, most Libertarians voted elsewhere or not at all, disenchanted Democrats/Progressives (mostly Hillary people the first time around, and then those disappointed in Obama the second time around) did not vote at all. The media protected Obama and those who were asked to stop him failed to do so and the people that voted for them did nothing or very little to keep them accountable.
It is a complex issue and if people stopped being stupid perhaps we could make a change in this country.
I keep trying to tell people, Kimmy. But they won't listen. Corporations don't pay ANY tax. EVER. They are just unpaid tax collectors. ALL taxes are passed on to the end consumer. Where else does the money come from?
A friend will post some stupid tripe about corporations not paying enough taxes on The Book of Faces, (as we call it at faire), and I explain this to them. Sometimes I'll get a weak argument, sometimes not. But a few days later, that same person will be claiming the same stupid crap.

Exactly. Either ALL individuals in this country pay ONE tax only, to the state and the state keeps some and gives the rest to the federal government, OR Businesses collect taxes on products and services only (to give to the state and the state to the fed) and there are no other taxes collected from individuals for any other reason.
EVERYTHING gets taxed even when no product or service had been done (won or inherited the money for example), even when the money gathered came from an investment and even when that money had ALREADY been taxed. It is thievery.
We are being choked by taxation and it is impossible for idiots to grasp the concept.
Why is everyone bitching? If it costs more to do business, businesses are going to charge more for their product. Instead of raising prices all Wild Wings is doing is letting customers know WHY they have to pay a little more for their grub.

A surcharge for a piece of crap product that does not work, but if you don't buy it you get penalized, and even if you do buy it, now you have to pay a surcharge...What a F*cking country this has become... I think there should be a poll tax (that demotards always bitch about that does not exist just like Obamadeathcare) every time you vote demotard you have to pay a big surcharge to help pay for the damage the stupid politician you just voted for is going to cause...Pay to play.
Kind of like a 'pay forward' scheme. One can always bend forward later.
