CA shuts down fifty-year-old burger joint for having counters “too tall.” Hey, California has fallen to 3rd worst state unemployment rate (after Nevada and Rhode Island) so they hafta fight like mad to regain the lead. We wonder if former Dallas Cowboys star Ed “Too Tall” Jones would be allowed to play in California…

Another reason to get the hell out of this sh..hole. This Scott Johnson has been screwing with business for years around Sacramento. A restaurant by my work that I frequent got served notice by this assshat 2 yrs. ago, and it cost them $13,000 to comply. The sad part is that he goes agter small business the most, it seems. He drives by a business, drafts a threaghtening letter and mails it to them. It basically tells them to comply, or go to court. I know of many people that would like to give him a hand over the cliff. I don't give a s..t if he's handicapped. He needs to go.
His one-attorney law firm now has but one client: him. His lawsuits always allege ADA and state access law violations. The state law accusations are vital to Johnson's success because California allows disabled plaintiffs to collect monetary damages while the ADA only provides for the fixing of the problem and attorneys' fees. So in a sense he's doubledipping. As the plaintiff he collects monetary damages, plus as the lawyer he get attorney's fees. No wonder he spends most of his day canvasing one area of the city after another. He disgusts me...He is clearly a bitter man trying to make everyone else pay for the fact that he is paralyzed. In the video, yes the counter may have been too high for him but there were plenty of tables that he could have wheeled himself right up to. And I'm certain the employees would have made an effort to serve him without requiring him to be at the counter.
Success! All those employees thrown out of work and onto the unemployment line, where they can get unemployment payments, food stamps and free Obama phones.

I was in the same place for 28 years and never once had a handicapped person use my handicap parking place or the ADA compliant bathroom. While I feel sorry for anyone in a wheelchair these suits should be called The Scumbag Attorney Perpetual Employment Act.
