Sure Obama is pushing something. But it isn’t a stone up a hill. It is a giant wooden horse.

Carter was indeed incompetent. To this day I am really not sure if Obama is incompetent, because he is so arrogant (for no reason at all) or if he is an evil person or he is being handled by evil people and he is just an ideologue. It is very strange.

I agree it is not BHO's strategy that he is implementing. He is doing what he is told. I'm not sure he is incompetent in that area. IMO, this is is about attempting a thorough transformation from what's left of a free enterprise system to a command economy and totalitarian form of government. So far, the radicals have been effective.
0bama took a bad situation that was no where near as bad as what Reagan inherited (& I never heard him blame Carter) and made it worse. In fact, 0bama's policies have forced the breaking of many Great Depression records.

I would be disappointed if a man I respect like Cosby thinks that a winning slogan for our historic young inexperienced white-black president was "It could have been worse!"

I do believe the Gipper did indeed reference the Carter era, but he never mentioned Carter by name. It was more of the 'past 4 years' rhetoric much like 'failed policies of the past.'
Reagan didn't beat it like a dead horse though, as soon as his policies began improving America he dropped it from his speeches.
Meanwhile, all I have to say to Obama is 'boo hoo, you knew what you were getting into, you were a Senator for 2 years prior so you were partly responsible already.'

Maybe I am being too sentimental but I am thinking that he sees in Obama his own son whose life has been cut short by violence. He may have wanted his son to achieve the best possible achievement and being President is really that big of a deal. He maybe a bit paternalistic here towards Obama. Regardless he is still wrong in his assessment.

Bill Cosby is getting old and like many older Black Americans he probably never thought that he would ever see a Black POTUS. It is understandable that he would want to give Obama the benefit of the doubt even to the last possible moment and blame someone else for his failures. However, he is of course wrong in his assessment and if Obama thought he wasn't prepared and still went for the Presidency then Obama is at fault for sure. If Obama thought he was ready and to this day hasn't done anything positive he is still at fault, because he made promises and didnt deliver. no matter the problem at hand he had the entire halls of Congress at his disposal and the love of the media to turn things around and he did not. He made things worst.
Cosby and others like him ar trying to ensure that Obama doesnt get a bad rap as it may prevent another Black person from becoming President, however this is not the one to protect. We can have another President of color we just have to choose the right one .
