Can you trust the Labor Dept’s jobs number? The unemployment numbers are likely wrong, probably because the BLS’s methodology is out of date after the changes in the economy the last 30 years. For instance, “…the US economy was built on housing for years and years, and this time those jobs aren’t coming back…” The BLS model needs to be tweaked to account for that. Whatever the problem, the current administration appears clueless to fix it.

The BLS has cooked the books so much under this administration, the damn things are about to catch fire.
They're just making them soft and easier to digest.

I can't trust anything this government says, EVER! I have a question though, are you suggesting people no longer need housing? Where did those jobs go? I build houses for a living and realize that the policies of this idiot have caused what may have been a severe bump in the road to became quite a chasm, but once this depression ends I would think it would come back. We still need a place to live...
I think that the artificially high rate of building caused by Clinton and gang caused a lot of people to go into the construction fields, and it will never get back to that level. I've given up on finding a reasonable amount of work as a heavy equipment operator, and taken my early retirement.
