Catalytic converter thefts on the rise in NJ. Thieves crawl under vehicles with high ground clearance, like SUVs, and remove the converters in broad daylight with battery-powered saws. Platinum goes for $1500 an ounce these days – it’s a lot easier to steal a buck this way than with copper wire.

This has been a problem in Kalifornia for a long time, and, you'll love this, the MAJORITY of suspects caught are ILLEGAL ALIENS who steal the dam things and sell them to scrapyards. Yea lets bring in 11 million more.
Here in Little Mexico they steal copper from air conditioners. That's a hanging offens in a place where the temp frequently exceeds 100 degrees!
If Kali is like Nuevo Mexico your prison population is likely close to 40% illegals. We can't deport them but we can house, feed and provide top notch medical care for them.
Yup 10 BILLION A year for illegal healthcare in Kalifornia....That's BILLION WITH A "B", and it SUCKS!.
Damn! No wonder the state is going broke.
And yet, since I'm 56 years old and half retired, the other half self-employed, I have to pay my own medical bills. Along with paying for the medical care of the illegals, both in jail and out.
I remember something like this going on in New York in the 90's only it was with airbags. The guy made millions selling airbags to body shops all over the country and every one of them was ripped off.
Now idiot boy will be saying 'Corporate greed stole our platinum.'
The clowns are likely not corporations but Unincoporated Spontaneous Economic Entities or something. So the mantra will be "USEE greed stole our platinum."
He will probably think it's Ben Bernanke and Donald Trump.
