Census Bureau valiantly trying to make Obama look less like a lying ass. This year, they changed the questions on health care in a way guaranteed to show fewer people uninsured. Naturally, Obamacare will get the credit and, naturally, the Census Bureau insists the changes had nothing to do with it being an election year.

Yesterday, a co-worker asked me if I saw the local evening news. I told him I don't watch the news. So he asked me if I saw it the night before. I repeated that I don't watch the news, ever. So, then he asked me if I knew who the local anchor babe was by name. At this point I wanted to reach out and punch him in the throat. Unfortunately, I did know the anchor babe because I had met and actually had a chat with her when she was a field reporter. So I gave in and said yes, I did know who she is.
Point being, the concept that I didn't watch the local and national nightly news was so foreign to him that he didn't consciously register the answers I had given him. That needs to change if we want people to see and comprehend what is actually happening in this country.
It might be unhealthful to criticize the Census Bureau; they've recently hired a number of North Korean experts in "enhanced interrogation techniques" and opened their own dog kennel.

What do you think you'd get from the people who have to define the word 'is'?
Let them run the numbers to hide the truth. It's like when the GDP numbers rise, but people are still out of work. Do people believe the stats or their eyes? The disconnect just reinforces the notion that this is a failed policy.
I was waiting for a flight last week and about 8 people in the boarding area were talking about how they didn't like Obama-care. All had personal, or people they were related to, stories about how they were being screwed by Obamacare. Men, women and it sounded like people all up and down the economic ladder. I've never heard anything like it in a public place. It sounded like a GOP commercial.
They can tout all these stats, but I think the real ones to watch are:
- How many people who signed up paid.
And more importantly, how many people going to the ER have insurance? That is a number that shows how many people have really picked up insurance. Especially for Q2 and Q3 when people who haven't made payments get dropped.
Shouldn't the number be zero?
Then we get into the one's who signed up, paid and now can't find a doctor.
My wife went to a new doctor a couple of weeks ago. The first thing when she called was "you don't have Covered California do you?"
My wife said the nurses tone perked up when she told her no we don't have that.
While she didn't get into it she said she got the distinct impression if she'd said yes that she would have been told they don't take it.
