Chicago considering cycling tax. “Bike-friendly bloggers retorted that maybe pedestrians ought to be charged a shoe tax to use the sidewalks.” Those damn farm subsidies simply not enough to keep this eleventy-plus rated city running.

If you drive a car, I'll tax the street,
If you try to sit, I'll tax your seat.
If you get too cold I'll tax the heat,
If you take a walk, I'll tax your feet.

The Beatles, from 1966!!!
What's next? Walking tax and a breathing tax?
Then a tinkle tax, burp tax, blow your nose tax, driving tax, walking tax, breathing tax, looking tax...all designed to desperate you from YOUR money and give it to some worthless government entity or some piece of dog poo who lives in a basement, wears jammies and drinks hot chocolate while watching chick flicks and getting his/her news from PMSNBC.
But will they tax...thingie?
Oh this will probably be too local, obscure, and incomplete, BUT . . .
there is an old political song I've hear up here in Mass., referring to an R.C. priest who served in Congress. Unfortunately, all I recall is a fragment about how politicians only tax what they themselves don't so, and the refrain, "Oh, what would they be taxing now/If we'd elected Father Drinan?!?"
Sorry for that, I'll do a bit of research and see if I can come up with more!
Damn auto correct, that is suppose to be separate you from your money
Know the feeling. iPhone and iPad do it to me all the time. :)
No, I think they'll be too chicken shit to actually call them taxes, they'll probably call them 'fees' instead and then they'll make the public utilities collect the 'fee/taxes' for them. Just like them chicken shit bastards that they are!!
How about a farting tax after fashioning ones diet after Michelle's recommendations?
As usual, Progressives howl when asked to pay for their goodies.
The city is upset that it's losing tax revenue because more people are driving less to help reverse globull warming.
