Some words just seem to go together. Like red, white and blue. Stars and stripes. Chicago and corruption.
Former U.S. Senator and current candidate for Chicago Mayoral Carol Moseley Braun has refused to release her tax returns. And her reasoning is just so, so Chicago: She doesn’t want to. So there.
The Chicago Tribune has the story:
Mayoral candidate Carol Moseley Braun today said she won’t make her tax returns public before next month’s election.
“Because I don’t want to,” Braun said when asked why she wouldn’t be releasing them in the time before the Feb. 22 election.
Fellow candidates Rahm Emanuel and Gery Chico already have released their tax returns … City Clerk Miguel del Valle, a mayoral candidate, also has released his returns.
We blame it on her parents.
“C’mon, little Carol, eat your spinach.”
“I don’t want to.”
“OK, little Carol. If you don’t want to, you don’t have to.”

Hmmm. Interesting. Also interesting is the comment about the "pro democracy press" in Nigeria. How about we work a trade. We have a pro dictatorship press in America, they have a pro democracy press. Looks like a win win trade to me. Both sides would get what they want.

She did finally release the past 2 years returns. I think 2008 she had an income around -$250,000 (yes, negative) and for 2009 it was around $16,000. Oh, BTW, her house is on the market for 1.9million.
So,..........she's honest, right?

Rahm Emanuel had to release an "amended" tax return stating that, even though he`s lived in Washington for the past 2 years, he has also lived in Chicago for the past year otherwise he wouldn`t be eligible to run for King-of-Crook-County.
When you look at IL politics, the fact that the Mayor of Chicago has much more power then the Governor of IL should tell you something.

What if a liberal were to say another white hypocritical republican...? what is the point of mentioning the color of the skin? What is up with King's dream of the content of character being enough to make a proper judgement over an individual. If you want people to move on from race stop mentioning it everytime you can. tut tut tut. It is people like you that makes it harder for a black person to seek conservatism as a way out of the liberal yoke... but alas life is life.

What are you and your friends mad? But have no balls to actually post something? When I put a thumbs down I make sure to post the reason why. Fine... I guess truth hurts. Considering that Chicago is a cesspool the wrong person in the wrong setting will do whatever they want to do regardless of the color of their skin. It is the so called conservatives that always bring up race (even with the situation doesn't merit it in any way shape or form) that makes it truly difficult to fight or defend the conservative movement against accusations of racism from the left.
It is hard for me as a black woman to defend the movement when a leftie can so easily find posts like yours and others even on this same story I may add. She is not corrupt because she is black. She is corrupt because she is a progressive/socialist democrat who lives and works and plays with other people's money in the city of Chicago notorious for its corruption. Being black is not the problem, being a corrupt individual is the problem.
If she trafficks in fake racism or other things like Jackson on Sharpton it could be a valuable point to point out, but she is still corrupt for being who she is a person not for the color of her skin as I can very easily point out white people who are also corrupt even those who are white and still market in fake racism YET I couldn't generalize but just as well most people who are white ARE NOT marketers of fake racism, are not corrupt and so on and so forth.
I'll give you a thumbs-up AND explain why. We have the same problem in New Mexico. Corrupt politicians, a failing educational system, budget problems, the whole enchilada, but when I bring up a subject and what I think is wrong, the first thing the liberals around here accuse me of being a racist. Funny thing is, I never bring up race unless that is the subject being discussed. The really funny thing is the libs say I don't like hispanics or illegal Mexicans because I'm a racist and I am part hispanic myself. I've lived here all my life, been bi-lingual all my life, and I don't like crooked politicians or illegal aliens. If they happen to be home grown hispanics or Mexicans, so be it, I guess I am a racist.
