Chicago Tribune, USA Today, and LA Times refuse to run pro-life ad. They claim the photo showing a 20-week-old baby held in the palm of one hand is “too controversial.” Next time you hear the newspapers complaining about lack of revenue… laugh cruelly devoid of sympathy.

    "The current legislation in Sweden is the Abortion Act of 1974 (SFS 1974:595). This states that up until the end of the eighteenth week of the pregnancy the choice of an abortion is entirely up to the woman, for any reason whatsoever. After the 18th a woman needs a permission from the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) to have an abortion.

    Permission for these late abortions is usually granted for cases in which the fetus or mother are unhealthy. Abortion is not allowed if the fetus is viable, which generally means that abortions after the 22nd week are not allowed.

    However, abortions after the 22nd week may be allowed in the rare cases where the fetus can not survive outside the womb even if it is carried to term"

    And just why is 20 weeks so onerous? We have always known pregnant or healthy or not no latter than 12 weeks.

  • The msm refusal of this ad proves that they are not about debate, but about an agenda. A child born at twenty weeks can survive and led a productive life. Yet all of the abortionists wish to tell anyone who is stupid enough to listen that a "fetus" can not possible survive at twenty weeks.

    I wonder how many, scientist, doctors, philosophers, musicians have not been allowed to survive just for convenance sake. Raising children is tough and a difficult responsibility, yet it is one of the most rewarding ones undertaken by a man or woman. Abortion just because it is not the right time, or "I dont want to ruin my body" is such bull shit. If you do not wish to have children, there are many measures that can be used to prevent it. Condoms, the pill, sterilization of either the man or the woman.

    Before anyone claims that I dont have children. I have two sons and yes there have been times that I wanted to choke them. Yet both have brought great pride, joy and honor to me.

    I will close with one of the harshest lines that an abortion proponent can hear. "It's a good thing that your mothers where pro life, otherwise you would not be hear to bemoan about abortion and your right to one."

  • That's the actual size of a baby at 20 weeks in the womb. It's not a religious belief, it's biology. The Pro-Life position is defensible by unaided reason alone. It's funny when Bill Maher and the atheists and liberals describe themselves as the defenders of reason. They assault reason on this issue and many others.
    The one-cell human embryo has 26,000 encyclopedia pages worth of genetic information. One time I remember Maher calling the zygote, "microscopic goo".

    • Not only is that what a 20-week baby looks like, a group of pro-lifers collected footage last year of abortion doctors lying unscrupulously about what a 20-week baby looks like. The abortionists would say, "Oh, don't worry, it's just a collection of cells at this point - no face, no arms and legs, nothing that looks human." That's why abortionists have conniption fits when pro-lifers stand outside their "clinics" with pictures.

  • Liberals need for abortion to be out-of-sight-out-of-mind. It must be "a concept"; not something actually happening to an actual baby with arms, legs and a face. It's between a woman and her doctor... not at all between a defenseless baby and some cold steel tools.

    They like to snap at us because we are pro-life and yet we support the death penalty. Whatever. They don't get it. But at least we don't come up with euphemisms for condemned criminals: "No, that's not a human; it's a legally guilt-laden biological item."

    And when was the last time you heard a conservative scream in rage because a movie depicted an execution? We might complain if the movie is leftist propaganda, but we don't complain about actually showing a man strapped into an electric chair and getting zapped. However, just try to show an abortion, and just watch the left's reaction! "No! That's a private procedure! Don't you DARE depict it happening!"

    Out-of-sight-out-of-mind, and with a whole lexicon of euphemisms - that's how they live.

    • Innocent baby ----> Give him or her the opportunity to live and make their own life which an be just as good as most people

      Criminal -----> Made a choice to prey on people in order to satisfy their evil desires, lost rights to LIFE, freedom and the pursuit of happiness.

      Cannot be compared.

    • Progressives have been experts at manipulating language for decades. As you point out, it is the only way to advance their agenda. If they were honest, they'd be exposed for who they really are. These idiots mock Chritians as death cult members. That is supreme irony.

      • They won when they started calling themselves liberals and let them get away with it. Every idea is diametrically opposed to the definition of liberal. I only use the term leftist and I really wish Rush would but he has decades in the world Liberal in the bank.

        • No, there comes a point when a word is lost and you just have to let it go. Otherwise, you spend your whole life arguing with people about what "liberal" REALLY means, when you should be focusing your energy on stopping abortion, etc.

  • All the great battles of our times seem to be coalescing around 'Quagmire' and his administration. If I was a betting man, I'd say this looks a lot like the beginning of the end, Biblically speaking. 'Quagmire' is beginning to look like the Anti Christ, or at the very least, one of his willing acolytes...I don't know, but maybe the Wookie is the Anti Christ...I haven't decided yet.

    • Google 'Obama thank you Satan'... Somebody analyzed Quagmire's 'Yes we can' speeches from 2008. Sounds suspiciously like 'Thank you, Satan'.

  • Oh I see... The baby by its mere existence is offensive/controversial. Nothing controversial about the baby being an inconvenience to a woman to the point where it is best to kill him. People who don't want to see the truth hide in the shadows.

    • Added to the irony is the nifty fact that the financially troubled LA Times is rumored to be selling to the Koch brothers which has the editorial staff in a tizzy. They don't want conservative money saving the newspaper, they don't want conservative money buying ads, and they wonder why they can't make money.

      • What they don't want, are conservative journalists taking their jobs from them because the conservatives will actually do the job that they refuse to do, even though they're getting paid to do it. Any more, if I get magazines or news papers, I just pull them out of the trash so I can use them for fire starter.

        • Seriously, the only magazines that I get are the American Legion magazine, and Maxim, but I don't get Maxim for the articles (DUH), I don't read them, I got the subscription as a gift. The only paper I get is an occasional Sunday paper, for the coupons, comics, classifieds, and I use the rest of the paper to set my baskets on when I deep fry foods.
          My wife gets People :roll: and Readers Digest.
          As far as these papers go, they are too stupid to survive. Even FOX News takes ads from people that they don't agree with. There's a difference between personal beliefs and making money. If you don't make money, you can't afford to follow your beliefs.

  • The largely morally uneducated people that this industry desperately needs , must NEVER come to grips with the truth of what they are doing .

    To those that know better, but do not care , mostly due to the fundamental believe that there is NO GOD that we will have to answer to , come the day , are in fact worse off on the inside than those that participate not knowing . I believe their day will be far worse than the ignoramus that cannot fathom what they do .

    As it goes " Woe unto them that call Evil good and Good evil .... ".
