I wouldn´t deny this story made me smile.

  • This was the best description of Muslim actions the world over I have ever read. They envy everyone because they ae no longer the Persian Empire, or the Ottoman Empire, and have been eclipsed byWestern and Eastern governments both. So they enjoy doing anything to hurt everyone.

  • This certainly explains Barry’s enthusiasm for the Deplorable Health Control Act.

And Obliviousidiot's obsession with posting here?

  • I think it's part of the physiological make-up of a modern politician, and definitely part of everyone's least favorite narcissistic crybaby.

  • Another waste of money . . . I have a joke book, 50s vintage, "Sick Jokes, Grim Cartoons, and Bloody Marys" which takes a quick look at "sick" humor before getting down to business, and notes that even in Homer's Odyssey there is an episode of the sailors laughing at a hunchback getting beaten.

My own opinion is that this is a variety of what is sometimes called "whistling past the graveyard," in other words, seeing someone injured makes us laugh only because we DO identify and empathize with them to some degree, and we are uncomfortable and frightened because we understand how easily it could be ourselves.

    • Strangely enough, I agree with you, Psycho. But I also believe that that attitude is the hallmark of an immature person. Which is why we see so much bullying going on among middle school students, and not nearly so much among adults in their thirties and forties.

      • Bullying goes on everywhere at every age. Just fewer people say anything about it as they get older, and most quit paying attention. Every comedy show on the air shows peole laughing at others, setting up situations to humiliate them, and teasing, roughhousing (whether desired or not) is rife across the airwaves. I love NCIS, but the popular hit upside the head, the hugs and kisses between the team leader and the lab tech would never be tolerated in a business, let alone the military. Peole bully for 2 reasons. To obtain power over others, or to feel they have attained power they do not have.
