The hotel tax is especially stupid. I tended bar in Downtown Chicago for about 10 years and April though October is convention season. Big conventions bringing in millions upon millions of dollars. A couple years before I moved away, some conventions moved to cities with considerably lower taxes (Vegas and Orlando in particular). Raising taxes even more is going to cost the city plenty, and not even liberal math can hide that fact.
Simple, the more conventions that move, the higher they will raise the taxes to cover the lost revenue! That will teach those rotten rich convention people!

Even if that could be done, he would still be dirtier then coal ever was.
I have relatives who moved there years ago before they realized what kind of place Illinois, and Cook County and Chicago in particular, are. And now they want to leave, but family and jobs and the economy keep a hold on them there. Sad.
And it still won't cover the spending; nothing will until they start taxing bribes.
Makes me want to pack up and go live there. Rahm needs to run into a hail of bullets.
While I do feel sorry for the rare conservative in Shitcagahole, I'm sure the Marxocrats couldn't be happier. Increased taxes is exactly what they have continually voted for. Here's hoping they get even more. Lots more.
