Class Warfare for Republicans. “No one expects the Republicans to turn socialist, but they can reap benefits from anger over the crony capitalism that has become emblematic of the Obama era. Wall Street and its more popular West Coast counterparts, the venture capital ‘community,’ consistently game the political system and, usually, succeed.” Not to mention the Hollyweirds. Crony capitalism is not capitalism, its nearest kin is more likely fascism than anything else.

Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages. Cured morbid fear of heights when I learned to look at them as lengths standing on end. Uncompromising in refusal to accept browser cookies. Amateur investor who has accumulated a small fortune in the market after starting out years ago with a large one. For recreation, I run, hike, kayak and play tennis but will not consider synchronized swimming under any circumstances.

    They are in the blogs and in Austrian circles but the political class is too timid to call crony capitalism what it is. Fascism is hard to define in a pithy sound bite friendly way so most pols are afraid of being abused by the media if they were to go down that road.
