• And yet if the child was still in the womb this mother would have had the "right" to kill the child. Taking a 5 month old to a different doctor for a second opinion, worst parent in the world. The world we live in is so screwed up.

  • Exactly. She did her due diligence. Why have the child go through what I can only imagine to be a painful experience when it is unnecessary for him to do that? This is completely disgusting.

• As a former CPS investigator, I am ashamed of this story. I am all about protection of children but these workers are buffoons. They, and the LE officers should be sued. THAT'S why we have plaintiff's attorneys!!!!

    • Excuse me?! That is so crazy. Who the hell do they think they are? They took him from ONE hospital to ANOTHER hospital where they told they could go home... Seriously I think this is all about money. This is about the hospital wanting to extract money from the parents because the surgery would be expensive and they were pissed that they went for a second opinion something that MOST IF NOT ALL people do when it comes to things of this nature... I mean seriously disgusting.

  • I don't ever want to be in a position where citizens are essentially in gun battle with the police as government agents. However I can see it happening. The military need to make a decision as well. THIS is the reason why the 2nd Amendment exists.

    • We need the military to rise up first THEN citizens should join in. But look what's happening in the military with top-level commanders being pushed out.

    • I know A LOT of cops very well. I don't know ANY that support the current regime. I think they would be on our side. Ditto for the military.

      • Based on the massive police presence and de facto martial law declared in Boston two weeks ago, I have no doubt that enough of our police and military wouldn't think twice about turning their guns on us. Many wouldn't but enough, IMO, would do what they were told under any circumstance.

        • I have to agree on SK on this. There was time where I would have agreed with you NV2, but considering what has been happening lately wit the Martial Law in Boston and with increasing examples of police gone wild I cannot longer believe that the cops will stand by the citizenry. I really do believe that the cops that are being picked right now are those that don't give a crap about the citizens and our rights. NO cop should have walked into their home and taking the baby by force without a warrant and without their permission and without at least allowing them the opportunity to show proof that the baby was safe with them (hearing the other side).

• This is wrong on several fronts. The parents sought another opinion about their son. Any parent would do this. The second hospital assured the officers there was no abuse of any kind and that the parents where seeking a second opinion about their son and his heart murmur. Which ever ass hole at first hospital should be charged with custodial interference, endangering the welfare of a child. The CPS person and the police department damn sure better hope that their agency insurance plans are going to cover the civil suit. A some what decent attorney is going to rake them over the coals and rightfully so. Governor Moonbeam needs to come down from the stats and actually get involved in this matter instead of chasing unicorns and fairy dust.

  This is an utter disgrace and every patent needs to know their full rights so when the newest version of the Gestapo.
