CNN Anchor: ‘Our Rights Come From Man’ We hate to trot out the well worn phrases but all the same here it goes. If we assume that rights are imparted by the will of the state then we’ve permitted that state the authority to abort them. And abort them it will. In the 19ths century the thinking that rights come from man allowed for the institution of slavery. In the 20th century it brought about the Holocaust. And while we don’t know what the specific consequences will be in the 21st Century we do know that they will have a tireless champion in crypto fascists like Chris Cuomo.

  • Compromise

    The last word out of Coumo mouth. Compromise is lion and leopard voting to eat the lamb. Inalienable right is the lamb say oh-no-you-don't. Coumo is showing his intellectual ass there. These people are so deo-phobic, so deeply ingrained that only the govt can solve problems, that they don't see the truth to the fact that constructing rights based on divine basis is the only way to ensure that they can't be taken away. The Constitution doesn't give us rights anymore than at night headlights put road in front of us. The Constitution illuminates and reveals the rights we would have- and will still have, even if they burn the document- or more likely ignore it when they can, and redefine when they can't.

    Put the guy on with the Southern accent and act all indignant when he mentions God. The Progressive can't do anything without mentioning a jobs program as the cure.

  • This has never made sense to me. Where to Atheists get their thoughts on right and wrong from? Likely from their parents. Where did their parents get them? From God or their parents, right? Keep going up the chain until you find the Godly connection.

    Everyone's thoughts on right or wrong, at some point in the chain, came from their connection to God I am sure.

  • For a guy who attended The Albany Academy, an elite prep school, then received his undergraduate degree from Yale University, and his Juris Doctor from Fordham University and is a licensed attorney, he is clueless about our system of gov't. That's on top of the fact his old man was NY governor & ran for president. His statement explains everything I need to know about his belief system from a political standpoint, & in my eyes, is damaged goods that cannot be repaired.
