Displaying an inexplicable lapse of judgment, CNN brought seriously unfunny comedian Kathy Griffin back to co-anchor its New Years Eve Times Square coverage with Anderson Cooper again this year.
We actually pitied Cooper as we watched. He obviously finds Griffin as unfunny as we do and did that odd forced laugh over and over and over until he became even more annoying than Griffin. Which is really saying something.
Yeah, everyone knows Falcon Heene, the infamous Balloon Boy, but no other broadcasters were juvenile enough and unfunny enough to turn his unusual name into an obscene joke. (And we use the word joke in its broadest definition).
It’s no secret that Anderson Cooper is gay. But we’re pretty sure that’s not reason enough for Griffin to begin referring to him getting a blowjob.
What kind of serious news network would put the awful Griffin on the air and team her up with one of their serious news anchors, even on something as fluffy as New Years Eve in Times Square.
Only CNN. What were they thinking?

Cooper as the "man" that he is used twitter (supposedly) to tell her to shut up. It was on Red Eye. They are both losers.

CNN secured a ratings win for New Year's Eve. Yeah, I'm pretty sure they care what you have to say. Bunch of f-cking moralists on here, who wouldn't know fun if it came up, bit them in the a--, smacked them in the face, and then jumped up and down on their head. Only uptight people hate Kathy Griffin.
Uptight? I like comics with actual talent who are funny, & no, they are not all clean. Not even close. Comics like George Carlin & Richard Pryor were anything but clean. Ron White tends to be dirty as well, & Dennis Miller can use profanity as well as anyone. Jim Norton is as sick as hell. But for pure filth, perversion, & profanity, Robert Schimmel is the man. Funny as hell, but his material is X-rated.
It's really simple, it's not about being an uptight moralist, it's about the fact that Kathy Griffin is really not funny. That & at some point you would think that CNN would figure out that the tag-team of Griffin/Cooper-Vanderbilt is a disaster waiting to happen just from the couple of time they have done New Year's Eve together. My sense of humor is sick, very dark, can be very profane, completely politically incorrect, & very perverted as well. I will apologize for NONE OF IT. So JamesS, don't lump me or anyone else about not having a sense of humor, & if your not down with that...

I have no respect for the women from the time she cursed and said that she thanked herself instead of Jesus for her Emmy (for what? I dont know). Then she kept going on and on about Palin and then she went to an awards show with the douchy playgirl model. Gross.
I am surprised becasue she really ripped on Anderson more than once especially during the katrina time when he went down to NO and was wearing his Prada shirts.

She was trying to say the name in a way to imply swearing. Sounded more like "Fulcan" to me. He said she was "terrible" because it was a running joke all night that she would get in trouble if she swore. So she kept getting close to doing it, and trying to get him to do it, but she was clearly being very intentional and careful about it. I'm not a big fan of hers, but I do enjoy them together. I didn't hear swearing and don't think she should be held responsible for people trying to find something naughty.
When did Anderson Cooper become a "serious" news anchor? Only if by serious you mean he's vanilla and boring.

Yep, Griffin and Cooper...two big losers together. Griffin's brand of humor is disgusting, but I suppose CNN, desperate for ratings as they are, thought she'd help boost them. This ought to tell you all you need to know about the people who actually watch CNN these days. I was watching the festivities, on FOX news, on New Year's eve, with Bill and Megyn, which was very entertaining with no filth or innuendo.
Yeah, that's pretty sad. Guess the talent was unavailable this year.
Some of us stopped taking CNN seriously when they admitted to a willingness to print whatever the administration told them to print in exchange for access. Then they did it again with the Obama administration.
Oh, the first administration was that of one S. Hussein, former Iraqi President.
