CNN puts punk ass nigga on the air

Oh, my. Just try to imagine the frenetic liberal wailing and gnashing of teeth if Fox News had made a mistake like this.

CNN, during a segment this morning about a 103-year-old African-American woman, mistakenly aired a portion of a song that includes the word “nigga.” Realizing the mistake, the anchor apologized soon after.

The segment was about Gladys Flamer, a woman from Pennsylvania who is still driving at 103 years of age. After telling the story, anchor Kyra Phillips said, “Miss Flamer, this shoutout’s for you.”

The audio cut to “Fantastic Voyage” by Coolio — specifically, a part of the song with the words “punk ass nigga” — over footage of the woman climbing into her car.

The chorus of that song begins, “Come along and ride on a fantastic voyage”
About 25 minutes later, Phillips acknowledged the mistake and apologized.

“We aired some music just a few minutes ago and, obviously for those of you who heard it, it was the wrong music that aired. It was a terrible mistake and we’re working very hard to make up for it,” she said.

Obviously, CNN was correct in apologizing for putting this on the air. But what the hell, Larry King’s been on the network for years and they’ve never apologized for him.

  • HOW are they making up for it? Praying a few hail marys or something? How do you make up for that? Yes it was an incorrect choice of music and one has to look at whoever chose it and whoever put it out. Perhaps they need to be fired. However you are right had Fox done this you would not hear the end of this. where is Al Sharpton?

    • Al Sharpton is on FOX actually....sorry but FOX news is not the be all end all....is it better than MSBS and CNN ... hell yeah it is...but thats like saying Busch light is better than Old Style.....

      It is a very complex issue that cannot be discussed in a simple one paragraph....

      Oh by the way...Coolio was pretty good in Dangerous Minds but since then he's basically garbage...which would explain his music being played on CNN...

  • Oh you poor gentiles As we approach the end times, we approach that moment in history wherein God has promised his chosen people, the Jews, that the Messiah will come and restore the Kingdom. Focus first on God's word. He repeatedly teaches how important the Jew is in His eyes and how He has chosen to intervene in the affairs of the nation of Israel.

    • Uhm... O-K... Yes the Jewish people's mandate was to primarily showcase and introduce the created world to the Creator. The Creator chose a very lowly group of people who had been through many trials to be the a great nation so people can see that there is a G-d and go to Him for everything. Now being a great nation is conditional on maintaining covenant relationship with the Creator. Something that unfortunately Israel hasn't done perfectly from beginning to know, but the thing about G-d is that He is INCREDIBLY patient with His people. The cool thing is that the Jews are no longer just the only chosen people in the world. EVERYONE is invited to be part of the Kingdom of G-d. Once a person enters into a covenant relationship with the Father through the Son, a person is no longer a gentile (per se) he or she is a believer and part of the Kingdom. The spiritual setting for the Kingdom of G-d has already been done... years ago by the Messiah Jesus Christ (Immanuel, Yeshua...) so we are now waiting for His return and completion of restoration of the Kingdom which would be first and foremost a Kingdom for everyone who believes in Him. It is a spiritual Kingdom that will have physical aspects, but it will be worldwide, not concentrate on one area of the world. After all what is the point of an all powerful Messiah to just reign on one part of the world? He should, does and will rule over the entire world (universe actually). I believe that indeed we must focus first on G-d's words and He intervenes in the affairs of the entire world.

      Now... with all of that said... what does the Messiah have to do with CNN blasting a song with the word nigga in it?

  • So what was the problem. The performer was presumably a "person of color", thus making it a constitutionally protected non-prejudicial term used for emphasis by a member of that same "oppressed" group who was employing street vernacular to add depth and realism to his artistic endeavor.

  • Too bad they weren't thinking fast enough. This was a perfect opportunity to use the excuse that NEW YORKER magazine used after putting our first couple on the cover dressed as commie radicals. CNN should have explained that they were just trying to show the public how Fox would have reported the story.

        I can't thank you enough for the crash course in conservatism. It was so effective that it changed my political bent retro-actively. I voted for Reagan 3 times (1976 primary and twice as GOP candidate.) I then cast three votes for W, one for Tx. Gov., and twice as the GOP Pres. candidate.         I have re-read what I posted yesterday, (it's hidden now because of being so offensive,) and can't quite understand how the remarks could be mistaken for defending the left or CNN. Thanks but no thanks for the book offers, I would likely own or have read them already. I read "Atlas Shrugged" in the 70's and have recently added newest books by authors like M. Levin and M. Malkin, to name a few.

          If I dropped the ball on my interpretation of your post-my bad. Reading it again-maybe I did. I have been so dismayed by the lefty lapdogs who surf in here and piss on the parade, I sometimes shoot a little from the hop-that said-I am sorry.
          As for the Jerkoff thing-I thought that was particularly funny! You would be surprised by some of the left-wing "surf nazi's"(that is an ode to troma pictures) who come in here and make wild assertions and then surf off to other "conservative" sites to go whip it out and piss on them.
