Co2Insananity will temporarily leave the building. My friends, effective Tuesday October 8, I won’t be writing for a few days. As everyone will be wondering why, here’s the skinny.
I passed out around the end of August. No stroke or heart-attack, so the ER Doc took a chest x-ray and found a spot on my right lung. After lots of testing I found out it is cancerous. They did confirm that the MRI on my head showed there was nothing there, which my wife strongly agrees with.
This is what I get for smoking for 30 years.
So, tomorrow I get the top lobe on my right lung removed. I know it sounds bad, but the good news is it’s only stage 1 and if there’s nothing in my lymph nodes (which is what it appears like on the scans) I won’t even need chemo. Nowadays, they don’t even crack your chest open, they make 4 small incisions in your side and away you go. Recovery is usually 3-4 days.
I look at this as an opportunity and that someone is watching out for me. Finding it by accident before it’s spread beyond fixing is a gift from God.
FYI, I have no pain or symptoms, not even a cough and the only thing scary about this to me is the hospital food.
Barring any problems I’ll be back with the snark by Friday or Saturday. As soon as I can, I’ll post here and let you know how it came out (literally). (I will have my cell phone smuggled in).

OK I'm back. I got out of the hospital on Sunday afternoon. After all the drugs (read morphine) my brains been out of commission. Still hard or breath, but I'm not on oxygen. I finally got up and took a shower this afternoon (phew) as I had to go get another chest X-ray at the hospital. Still coughing up crap.
On the home stretch. Two more stents and I'll be in good shape.

Yeah, I'd like to know, too. I guess we have to wait for him to sign in and tell us himself, and he probably has stuff on his mind right now.
I thought I mentioned this earlier, but I can't find the post. ICU's and many areas of a hospital frown on the use of cell phones, for fear of affecting various signals in the area. So even if he is chugging along just fine, he may not be able to use his phone. Personally, I thought his estimate of his time in the hospital was alittle generous. Even if they didn't do an open procedure, its still major surgery. I am sure he has lots going on that takes precedence overupdating us. :(((

The people inthe hospital work all the time, and are unaware of our glorious site. Therefore, they wouldn't consider an update as important as we do!
Someone needs to clue them in and set their priorities straight!
