Co2Insananity will temporarily leave the building. My friends, effective Tuesday October 8, I won’t be writing for a few days. As everyone will be wondering why, here’s the skinny.
I passed out around the end of August. No stroke or heart-attack, so the ER Doc took a chest x-ray and found a spot on my right lung. After lots of testing I found out it is cancerous. They did confirm that the MRI on my head showed there was nothing there, which my wife strongly agrees with.
This is what I get for smoking for 30 years.
So, tomorrow I get the top lobe on my right lung removed. I know it sounds bad, but the good news is it’s only stage 1 and if there’s nothing in my lymph nodes (which is what it appears like on the scans) I won’t even need chemo. Nowadays, they don’t even crack your chest open, they make 4 small incisions in your side and away you go. Recovery is usually 3-4 days.
I look at this as an opportunity and that someone is watching out for me. Finding it by accident before it’s spread beyond fixing is a gift from God.
FYI, I have no pain or symptoms, not even a cough and the only thing scary about this to me is the hospital food.
Barring any problems I’ll be back with the snark by Friday or Saturday. As soon as I can, I’ll post here and let you know how it came out (literally). (I will have my cell phone smuggled in).
