Coda Automotive begins car production in California. Only $37,250? Snicker, snicker! Should be great trying to charge it up after all the coal and natural gas power plants are shut down. Not to mention it’s fugly.

  • 40 grand for a car that has a battery that will wear out(you all have cell phones and know what our brilliant battery technology does), is ugly, small, and mimics the entry model cars of all the Jap manufacturers. Utilitarian in looks and size-but 40 grand-a mid-level cost.
Then add the charging time, and Karnac says; This POS will sell fewer than the leaf and the gubment motors "dolt". wow-there are a lot of brilliant intellectuals on the left aren't there? Too funny to laugh at-too depressing to think about the damage that will be done to the environment when they throw all these brilliant electric cars in landfills-cause that is where they all belong.

    • Probably will be like my laptop. Shows it has at least 33% charge left on it and it just dies instantly long before it should. Should make for some excitement on the freeways when they crap out in the diamond lane during rush hour.

  • Just looked it up... 6 hour charge time on a 220v and 36+ hours on 110v. Let me see.... if I buy a car for $38k and can drive it 60 miles before charging it for 6+ hours..... Only a democrat enivro-pagan will buy this pos.

  • The next model from China will be called the Fuk Yew, there will also be special models available for food delivery, The CODA Rice Bowl, a Taxi, Coda Wong for Yew, the military version, The CODA General Tsao, and an extended drive able version, The CODA golongtime.

  • The article doesn't say how long it takes to charge. The Leaf takes 7 hrs for a full charge although an 80% charge can be had in 30 minutes if you buy a special charger. 30 minutes is still too long for most people to "refuel" although if Obama brings back 1970s-style gas lines, it might become viable.
