  I'd go with a lawsuit if I were him. I'd also love to see Mittens discuss the issue of the UnConstitutional, out of control TSA, but I won't hold my breath.

  • Just wanted to say thanks for the ABP add-on tip you gave out the other day (I think it was you). I'd tried one about a year ago and got rid of it but this works great. All my regular sites are faster than ever and working through the now and thens, no more garbage, little slide shows and video montages I could care less about. It did give me one new little snag but I'll figure it out. Thanks for sharing.

      • I'm getting a script error and it's freezing Firefox now and then. I think it's because Gmail is my main (boss, family, work suppliers etc) Email and it runs constantly (it's pinned as an app tab, could that be it?) in the background and the two don't get along. It might not be ABP per se, but some one little thing changed because it's a new bug since I started using it.

        This is my personal and work computer so it's on all the time* and I'm constantly shifting uses, from on-line whatever to wordpad to photoshop to archives yadda yadda but mail is always running and it's tripping a script.

        *little side Q about sleep vs power off sometime if you happen to know?

        • Hmm, I don't think I can help, since I've never used gmail lol.

          You may just need to unblock google, or some google item that runs with gmail in the ABP options. My next questions what kind of app is it? Is it a gmail app that runs on firefox? Or some sort of windows app? And what's the name of it?

          If you're really interested in a browser that has integrated email, you should check out seamonkey. I haven't used it much, it's not updated as much a firefox is, but it gives you the ability to run apps that are very popular on firefox, like abp, and gives you that integrated browser with email. I would think it has real time updates when you get an emial, but I'm not 100% sure.

          My knowledge of sleep vs power off... sleep just keeps your RAM powered, while saving power by keeping other things off. I doubt that's your problem.

        • Thanks guys, it's just a little bug, but it, well bugs me. An app tab is a f'fox thing. If you go up and right click on IHTM frownface in the tab bar and select pin as app tab, it gets it's own little spot over there in the corner, and will open auto whenever you start F'fox, and only closes when you exit f'fox. I pinned my mailbox, Sounds like what you mean with seamonkey. The sleep thing, I'm having a running fight, I never power off unless the 'puter isn't going to be used for a least 3 days, otherwise it sleeps. Basically this one hasn't been turned "off" in almost a month, daughters are ganging up on me, I still think I'm right.

          @psychodad Chrome seems to work really well the way I use it for certain work things so I'll check it out, but I can't stand a white background. Can I do this with Iron;

          from this morning, hard to see but links are a shade darker and tripped ones are obvious. Toldja I couldn't stand a white background, hurts my eyes.

        • I've used Seamonkey, and actually have it installed as an occasional backup. It's not really integrated email as much as one button opens both at once. Opera has really integrated email,but I don't like it. I use SRWare Iron, which is a stripped-out build of Google Chrome without the Google spyware and Thunderbird for email. I prefer Iron over F'fox because it's lighter weight and has a bigger view area very skinny window. Uses all the G. extensions too, I can hardly remember the last time I saw an ad, exc. when I had to use IE at work!

• Ahh, I could tell TSA stories for days. We have a local agent who looks like Ann Coulter. 4AM and the airport is dead except for me and a few others. I'd never laid eyes on this lady before but, lo and behold, I look up from my work and see what appears to be Ann Coulter sashaying across the ramp in fk me pumps and a frilly red dress, long blonde hair blowing in the breeze! My response is to challenge her and make sure she's badged appropriately to be in the area. Sure enough it was a TSA security test, I passed and got an atta boy certificate and gift card to the food court a few weeks later. Never mind the 20 miles of unmonitored fenceline around the facility. They have to test the people that are supposed to be there.... brilliant.

• We had a test today. Someone came into my business trying to urgently ship a box to LA by 5PM. This was like at 3PM. Even if I owned a LearJet that wouldn't have happened. My employee told her we don't ship small packages and she should go to FedEx or UPS. The woman left.

  About 5 minutes later a car with government plates pulls up. This dude comes in and flashes his TSA badge and tells us that the woman was a test and we passed.

  Great, exept we don't do what she asked. Yet another case of I don't know whether to laugh or cry. The stupidity of this "test" reeks.

  But then my first wife works for them, so it's not a big surprise they're morons.

  • I wonder how much was spent, with the "customer," her supervisor, the rest of the "team," however many vehicles they were riding around in,..............

        • Give it a rest Junior, this corporation bullshitt is getting old, If they are that bad, stop having your mom pay the big bad corporation for your internet, and stop paying the other big bad corporation for your Obama phone, and while your at it, stop buying food from any corporation, stop using their toilet paper, drinking their coffee, and reading their papers...I would suggest you leave moms basement, build a hut out of moose poo, and live in the woods where the big bad corporations can't find you and force themselves on your and you don't get internet or phone service....works for me.

• The more I hear about the TSA, the more that agency disgusts me. These are federal employees who have been given tremendous authority, but the government seems to scrape the bottom feeders out of the gene pool to man security checkpoints. Then when things like this happen, the bureaucracy kicks in, stonewalls efforts to uncover the ineptness and corruption, and protects those who contribute to the harm. It's infuriating! Just hearing "TSA" pisses me off.
