Just imagine how cheap gas would be at the pump if not for regulation and taxes. Build more refineries!
It will be one of their big contributors that will buy it for pennies on the dollar and then Congress will pass a bill to increase the value so the crook that bought it can have a huge profit. Remember Harry Reid's land schemes? Or Boner's? As a friend of mine suggested, we need a do it yourself tar and feather kit for Congress so each and every one of them can have a chance to be appreciated for what they do.
Who are the dumbasses going to sell the oil to? U.S. companies don't need it, we have a glut on the market as it is. The only people who would buy it is China, who we owe billions to already, Russia, who would use it against our allies, or Japan, who we owe billions to. No other country on earth can afford to buy that much oil then pay to ship it.
Just one more example of having a brain is not a requirement to be elected to office. This is about as stupid as Apple spending millions developing a new product without having a clue as to whether it will sell or not.
Isn't it being sold already, at extra low prices? It can´t be just Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states releasing enough oil to lower the prices that much, especially as Iran is right next door and could potentially decide to f*** the whole process.
Not being importers and have much smaller populations, they don't need that large reserves anyway.
Common sense is not so common in government these days.
Most members of Congress are worthless - what do you suppose we could get for them on the open market?
They wouldn't sell, they would have to go to the Flea Market to sell right next to the guy who sell sunglasses and the lady who sells potted plants, then you might just get $1.50 for one as a novelty item...and I have a feeling after about a week of constant bitching and whining they would end up in the garbage..
You could consider Congress to be the Strategic Stupidity Reserve, to be used only if Lurch croaks.
Well, at least this time when they give us the shaft, they will be providing the lube.
What do they care? It's not like it's their money or anything.
