Cool music video: Blame it on Bush

Cool music video: Blame it on Bush. What could be better than kick-ass right wing rock ‘n roll? Well, yeah, sure, it would be better if they had Tawny Kitaen rolling around on the hood of a car. But I love it even without the little White Snake minx. (And if you ask real nice, I might tell you my own personal Tawny Kitaen story some day. It’s a good one.)

    • I was sitting in a big, cushy chair in Starbucks in Newport Beach, California one day when this incredibly hot woman walked over and sat down in the chair next to me. We start talking. I ask what her name is and she says, "Tawny." I think I must have been overwhelmed by her hotness, because I didn't recognize her and said, "Is Tawny a real name or a nickname?" She says, "Well, I normally don't tell people my real name, but it's Julie." It still doesn't sink in that I'm sitting there talking to Tawny Kitaen.

I say, "What's your last name?" She says, "Finley." Well, she has a rock on her finger the size of a walnut so I say, "What does your husband do?" She says, "He's a baseball player." Now, I'm a big baseball fan, but her hotness was still causing my synapses to misfire, so I say, "Finley. Finley. Steve Finley?", completely forgetting about local California Angels pitcher Chuck Finley and thinking she must be married to Steve Finley who played for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Now I know from reading the papers that Chuck Finley is married to Tawny Kitaen, but this still doesn't register in my foggy brain. She's a bit miffed that I recognize neither her nor her famous husband. "No," she says, "Chuck Finley."

Suddenly it dawns on me -- I'm sitting her drinking coffee with Tawny Freakin' Kitaen, the remarkably sexy woman who rolled around on the hood of a car in the Whitesnake video. Holy crap.

We continue to talk and laugh and I'm mustering up all the wit and charm I can to impress her. I continue to call her Julie instead of Tawny, which she laughs at every time and says, "It's been a long time since anyone called me Julie."

After about 15 minutes the friend she's been waiting for walks into Starbucks and there are no other seats available, and I'm late for a meeting, so I magnanimously offer her my chair so they can sit together, for which Tawny is quite grateful.

She stands up and gives me a big hug and says, "I'm in this Starbucks all the time. Maybe we can have coffee again."

I went home and said to Mrs Editor, "You're never going to believe who I just had coffee with. Tawny Kitaen." She said, "Cool. Did you boink her?"
(Yes, Mrs Editor is the coolest wife in the world.)

About a week later Tawny attacked Steve Finley with her spike-heeled shoe as he was driving down the road, putting a sudden end to their marriage.

I somehow found myself at that Starbucks every damn day for about six months, but never saw her again.

      Her loss, I'd say.

      • THAT is a funny story! I would have asked my husband the same thing. And being the wonderful guy he is, he would have instantly said "I have eyes for no one but you".

(But I have a question - did she spike STEVE Finley, or Chuck?, lol Steve would probably have been rather surprised, I would guess).

        • Damn. Ten years later and I make the same mistake. You are correct, of course, that she spiked Chuck Finley, her husband, not Steve Finley.

And while Mrs Editor may be the coolest wife in the world, I am apparently not the coolest husband because I didn't say, "I have eyes for no one but you."

          • Just an aside Doc, think you'll get it, just downloaded and getting ready to re-visit the "old Marsten place", it's been a long time but looking forward to it.

          • LOL - he's European. He is über polite and charming at all times! Not like us rude Americans. It's one of the reasons I keep him around =)

  • When I was elected in 2008
I said HOPE and CHANGE is gonna be great
I’ve got four years to show my stuff
And maybe four more if that ain’t enough
The media’s gonna give me a push
If that don’t work I’ll just blame Bush
Now HOPE and CHANGE has a brand new meaning
You can tell by the way I’m leaning
When things go bad and I can’t cope
I close my eyes and “HOPE, HOPE, HOPE!”
Now I HOPE that they won’t see
How really bad is the economy
    I really HOPE unruly mobs
Don’t start mobbin’ cause there ain’t no jobs
I really HOPE they don’t find out
    What ObamaCare is all about
Now something that you may find strange
Is my whole campaign was based on CHANGE
I’m CHANGING the way the country’s run
Have some welfare, give me your gun
For those of you who are unemployed
    Don’t blame me….you’re paranoid!
If you don’t admit I’m on the right track
You don’t like me because I’m black
So all I do is just keep HOPIN’
Your mouth stays shut and your eyes ain’t open

  • Liberals seem to dominate modern music and movies. What an angry confusion it throws them into when once in a blue moon a conservative makes a powerful use of the arts. What a great song "The Deeper The Love" from Whitesnake in 1989 is. Tawny Kitaen has been quite troubled in recent years though. Domestic violence involving her second husband baseball pitcher Chuck Finley after the divorce from Coverdale. Cocaine possession, DUI.

  • Spot on song, I'm surprised "Dear Leader" and the rest of his useless idiots haven't tried to ban it yet.

  • That was OUTSTANADING!!! I especially liked the money flowing into the black hole of Solyndra and Beavis/Timmy. Like the Pussy rockers in Russia, if O cheats enough to win another term these guys better skedaddle to another country.

    • I saw 2016 today...one of the major points that stood out for me is that Obama knows how to manipulate people into wanting to help him. That email is you linked is a perfected example. I learned something valuable today.
