Looks like the real endangered species in this case is common sense in Colorado.....
Common sense left Colorado many decades ago.
And the Constitution.
Since there's so many transplanted Californians, maybe Jerry Brown wants the land for an alternate route for his "bullet train" - cause it will go even FASTER when it's going DOWN a big mountain!
