Courts and the Constitution. Looks like Mitt needs to edit his website and rid it of Justice RINO. In paragraph 4: “As president, Mitt will nominate judges in the mold of Chief Justice Roberts and Justices Scalia, Thomas, and Alito. These justices hold dear what the great Chief Justice John Marshall called “the basis on which the whole American fabric has been erected”: a written Constitution, with real and determinate meaning.” If it disappears I have a screenshot. Mr. Ed or Mr. Adm will have to load it because it won’t load.

  • If mitt wins, I think we are doomed to at least 8 more years of Darth Vader Ginsberg, because she won't retire until there is another Dumb in power.

      • I don't think Mitt's going to have a choice, either.

        To date, every time I ask a right winger to explain what it is about Mitt Romney that they feel would make an excellent president, they either hem and haw and stammer something about "well, he's a businessman" (as if being a businessman had anything to do with being an effective statesman), or "Well, he's not Obama."

        You know, Obama supporters are finding plenty of reasons (not just that he isn't Romney) to want Obama back for a second term. Seems to me you're going to have to find a compelling reason to jump on the Romney bandwagon, if you expect him to have a prayer in November. That Bush-on-steroids image he's trying to cultivate just isn't likely to cut it.

        • I can tell you plenty of good things about Romney, even though I didn't particularly want him to be our candidate. First, he is a man of honor and integrity. this is evidenced in the fact that he is married to his high school sweetheart and they have a lovely family. I am sure that the sleazy dems have dug everywhere, and haven't found anything more than a "rumor" that he harassed a possibly gay classmate 40 years ago. A claim that the mans family denies. he is also a religious man. I don't agree with all of the points in his religion, but I respect that the man lives according to his faith.

          He has good financial values. He understands that we can't spend more money than we have. And that, sometimes it's better to actually spend LESS than we have, and save it for emergencies. He IS a good businessman, and I have yet to see any shady deals or people he has been affiliated with.

          Perhaps the biggest, best thing about Romney: HE IS NOT OBAMA! Yesterday, he promised that his number one issue will be to repeal Obama-care when he is elected. And no, he is not a hypocrite: he instituted healthcare in MA, but he did that because HIS CONSTITUENTS wanted it. He recognizes that most Americans don't want that O-care BS.

          The more I research this man, the better I like him. But mostly, the fact that he is not Obama is damned straight good enough!

  • The Bigger Battle is that there WILL be states who opt out do to State Sovereignty on the Limits of An Over reach by the Federal government.

    After the Kartina incident, the states granted by Law Emergency Powers to the Federal Government of which it did not have before.

    The only govenor to oppose such a move was the one the Palin Replaced.

    Demonization of conservatives in the media and pop culture = tax on opposition to socialism.
    Taxpayer-funded abortions and contraceptives = tax on sex, whether you're having it or not.
    Redistributing public funds to the Unions = tax on staying union-free.
    Environmental restrictions on businesses = tax on capitalist activity.
    Government regulations = tax on liberty.

      I'm always amused at the way the far right panders to Big Business interests, at the expense of ordinary Americans. In effect, the Upper 1% is getting ready to throw a big, lavish extravaganza for themselves, and they've convinced millions of right wing suckers to help them push for it.

      Only thing is, the right wing suckers don't seem to realize that this is a very exclusive soirée, and that they're not invited. Their job will be to pay the bills and take responsibility for the cleanup. So they're more than happy to demand that Big Business be given carte blanche to pollute the environment, deny their employees affordable health care, outsource to third world nations with impunity, and enjoy tax deductions and credits at public expense.

      In direct opposition, I might add, to everything that our founding fathers stood for. These loons want to bring back an aristocracy (based on money and bloodlines), and are more than willing to give up their own rights and opportunities in order to create it.

          Accuracy does count in the world of a free-thinking person who understands reality. But in the world of the progressive, it all rests on superficial principles. They will make you an offender for a typo, but will string together many neatly typed sentences that communicate weak and faulty logic, and call it an intellectual call for liberty....liberty that frees them to dictate their beliefs to those who disagree with them.

          • It's because the school system rewarded them for doing nothing more than parroting back what they were told. They have mistaken that for being educated and "smart," and it is actually only the sheer mediocrity of their intelligence that prevents them from seeing that they are neither. Seriously. Has Olivia said one, single thing *ever* to indicate she's ever had an original thought come into her head? She doesn't even seem to get that the reason people tend to ignore her posts and questions is because she's just tossing out the same, tired inanity that we've heard from the progressives for years. She thinks it's because we don't have a good answer to come back with, when it is, in fact, a matter of disregarding her pointless drivel as the complete waste of everyone's time that it is.

Either that or they will 1) claim the question is faulty, 2) question the questioner, or 3) claim you are simplifying a topic that is far too complicated to explain in a clear, concise manner. (i.e.--writing a chapter, when a paragraph is sufficient)

            Just take global warming. When the Midwest is under a 4 inch sheet of ice In January, it's climate change. When there is a heat wave in June, it's warming. Snow and sleet, severe heat and flash storms, it matters not. Weather is a sign of man-made global warming, normal logic and scientific principles be damned.

            Greed is inherent among humans. For anyone to say they are not greedy, it is a lie. Greed was probably one force that ultimately has fed you and given you shelter, clothing, and other basic necessities.

            Your problem is you fail to see that greed comes in many forms and it's not only money that stimulates the greed in humans. But you are likely very young and very immature, and naive enough that your ass whistles.

          • And my son, too. He doesn't have the Constitution actually memorized, but he *does* keep a copy of it with him, along with the Declaration. I am a little concerned that lately he's been overly "fashionable" for a 17yo, and I don't want him to give up all hope for this country, but overall, he's a sharp, outstanding young man. :)

            I know she annoys everybody here, but the most I can seem to manage for her is pity. She's talking, but all I'm hearing is the same, tiresome, plaintive bleatings of another mindless sheeple, utterly unaware that she's been penned in by her masters with their sly promises to take care of her cradle to grave at someone else's expense, only so long as she maintains her docile obedience to their every command. She's locked up with all the other sheeple, dutifully going wherever the Progressive Collies herd her. And she really doesn't get it. The phrase "lamb to the slaughter" sums her up perfectly.

            So... pity. That's all the emotion I can drum up for her.

      • This tax has been imposed for centuries in many different countries. If things continue I wouldn't be surprised. There is a story about Christians being stoned by Muslims and the police did nothing. I don't know why this is not national news!

        • Because the media is a tool of the government and the government is currently undergoing a radical shift toward world parliament that concurs and coincides with islam's world caliphate, the assaults by mobs of mossies upon anyone else are not to be broadcast as this would undermine their intentions.       I'm sorry, but you'll just have to steel yourself to the horrible reality that millions of Americans will now have health care, and won't need to run to the emergency room with nonemergencies. And, horror of horrors, the insurance industry will have to adhere to some guidelines, instead of being able to put Big Profit ahead of all other considerations.

            I need your help, gentlemen. Let's see. Yes. Right there next to the stream and the willow trees. That's a lovely spot, isn't it? Could you sweet boys help me construct a little cottage so I can open Ms. Jenn's Home for Wayward Trolls? I'm afraid I'm not terribly good with a hammer beyond hanging pictures, but I do a great job of refinishing thrift store furniture and I'm sure I can find some inexpensive fabric to make nice, attractive curtains. (Hmmm. In our building plans, let's keep the windows up at a height where Olivia can't get to any curtains I hang. I'd hate for her to mistake the floral print pattern for dinner one day.)

            This way, we can round them all up, instead of having them wander about unsupervised like this. I'll get them started on a regime of all the things that have been missing from their miserable lives, like daily sunshine and fresh air, and good home-cooked meals. And I'll devise some simple games to keep them occupied, and an educational curriculum to teach them all the many things they still need to learn. How does that sound?
