      • Did it stay in Vegas? (always wanted to ask somebody that) Another # I've been kicking around in the back of my head while all the theater goes on, 14 billion. While we all gravitate to the "story of the hour", all this s#@* just keeps sliding on by.

        Know what it is? It's the # of gallons of ethanol mandated by the Feds be used next year. (Hey GoldBoy, there's a fiat currency for ya, invest in corn) They don't say (or care) how it happens, but them's the "rules". Really starting to think the commie bastards have won, by the time the "regular folk" wake up it will be too late.

          As to the ethanol question: When enough people's engines are ruined and food prices soar even higher they will wake up. Too late is another question.

            I can't believe FOX took the ads, except that they know their viewers are too smart to fall for the BS, so why not take the money.

          • I guess what I'm trying to say is even tho the "focus" is on the shut-down & Øbam-meCare, this former blue collar guy who's 50 now and working smarter, (that's probably racist, being smarter) these properties I take care of (and invest in) now for basically nothing (pay that mortage baby), 10, 15, & 20 years from now those "rent" checks are supposed to be me enjoying my "retirement".

            And as my collar isn't exactly white now (gray*?), I learned the lessons over the years (cut a skylight in your roof where no man had gone before with my eyes closed), and I fear it's all going to be snatched away in the name of fairness. (*gray, rich on paper)

            Ethanol, the EPA on coal and energy prices, the lumber business is getting screwed two ways; once on the trucking regs and once on fuel and "driver rest", the DOJ is in our schools and voting booths, and the unions orgasmed over heathcare and now don't have the balls to stand and back it up. Green energy is killing our cars and sucking dollars away from the places it's needed most...

            Anyway, I think you know a little about me (and why I look at things the way I do) and I respect your take on things... but I'm really getting kinda bummed. We're getting squashed from all quarters.

          • Oh, I understand. The progs are coming at us from all directions. Almost like we are living out Atlas Shrugged. I get it and I get bummed too. That said, I won't give in to despair. Somehow people like us will say "ENOUGH!"and maybe we can reclaim lost ground. Remember, these a$$holes had the House for 40 straight years and yet we still had Reagan and the conservative renaissance. Things suck now but the world operates cyclically.

Thanks for not "looking or talking down" to me and answering honestly...you'd be surprised how often that happens when I'm mowing somebodies grass or unclogging their toilet, and they don't realize I get a cut of their rent check 'cause I earned in.

            Thought to hold was, if "our side" ever gets power back, can they rein in the "fringe" and not look like 1880 Salem all over again? Anyway, T'anx again.

            Had to add an example; Roe v Wade is terrible law imho, BUT! the way to defeat it is not the shrill attempts to outlaw it, if people knew the truth it would "wither on the vine" and finally make it's way into history books. Let the states decide, way it's supposed to be, but that's just me.

  • Well, if the House Republicans haven't put their balls away yet, I would recommend that they start sending smaller continuing resolutions funding groups of Departments and stopping just before they get to the Unaffordable Care Act. Let's see if the Senate will turn down the individual CRs....By the way, my senators, the ball-less wonder Mark Kirk and the evil henchman Dick Dirtbag, both voted for cloture. The worthless turds.

    • Tim Scott is also an of course and obvious that he would vote that way. He hates Obamacare with a passion, he is just not that well recognized because he is a Black Conservative so the media wants none of that.

        • He does in my opinion. I know a lot about him from a lot of media that is mainly conservative. However in all truth, because the liberal media is so pervasive, unless you are actively looking out for what he has to say, mainstream-minded people won't really see him or hear what he has to say. That is unfortunate. He doesn't really get the national coverage that he deserves, but he does do his own part to put himself out there. I guess unless he does something stupid or gross the national liberal media won't care.
