• As it turned out Joe McCarthy was right. It was the leftist in Hollywood and those emerging in the media who where wrong.

• Okay I am confused, I didn't hear him or anyone else (not Democrat) say that the entire government needed to be shut down, my understanding was that only Obamacare was to be defunded or not funded at all. The media and the Democrats changed the conversation again to make the Republicans like Cruz sound bad, but Cruz and others are basically just saying we want to just not fund Obamacare they are not talking about not funding government at all... we are once again victims of the media here and Cruz is a big victim.

    • One can argue that Cruz et all should explain things better but they do, it is just that the media chooses not to put it out there or not as much as they put Obama talking nonsense all day long. It is rather irritating.

      • Right. Getting the platform to be heard is the trick when media is lined up against the guy with the opposing viewpoint.

• Until I actually see some high ranking progressive heads roll I won't be entirely convinced that Cruz, Paul, Inhofe, et al aren't just convincing plants whose job it is to believably give voice to conservative constituents in order to placate and keep them sidelined on the premise that they are being heard. Taking at face value what is implied by the 18 votes cast against cloture, we can safely decloak the Democrats who have disguised themselves thinly as Republicans in the Senate and get a better idea of what we're up against: 81-19. The ratio of 4:1 can be implied in the supposedly "Republican" controlled House which consistently and with eerie precision pulls its punches JUST enough to permit the agenda to grind forward.

  Clearly the press and neuze media aren't sufficiently scared by the likes of Cruz to where they won't launch the usual barrage of slanderous attacks that oddly aren't met with any real objection on his part... there's no move that I can see on the part of the supposedly conservative stalwarts to dethrone and dismantle the propaganda ministry that serves its petulant emperor and isn't hindered by annoying inconveniences like facts in furthering his agenda. Going through the tired paces of legislative theater, albeit with a somewhat more convincing energy and narrative, isn't going to sway me into believing that those of us who aren't propagandized have an actual voice.

  It's way past time to "just have some faith" in whatever conservative flavor of the day bobs to the surface via the slimy and corrupt electoral machine and tells us what we want to hear... talk is cheap and the cost of staying this course just keeps going up and up.

    I did like the liberal's comment about shutting down the government was a violation of the Constitution. That was rich with irony.
