Let her burn in hell. As for the conviction, what a travesty of injustice, the defense lawyer must have been a complete idiot.
Not to mention, the judge, the jury, everybody involved. I hope he gets out in as short a time as possible, and can recover what's left of his life.
I understand the legal issues, but if I came home and found my spouse had murdered my children, I am pretty sure, I would do the same thing. I feel badly for the daughter, who has apparently gotten it wrong that her Dad, not her Mother, killed her brother and tried to kill her. A sad story all the way around. I do wonder who was on methadone?
One can easily guess what happened, she have gotten it wrong because some people (scumbags) have been deliberately bullshitting her in an attempt to use her against her father.
Yeah, I wondered if drugs played a role.
Another thing I wonder about is that the weapon used was a flashlight. Some of them are pretty heavy, and it may have been just a blow or two. Not that that makes it any better -- but that if he lost it when he'd seen his kids dead, that the moment of passion was a matter of a second or two.
You know, in fifteen years of an abusive marriage, I never hit my ex once. However, if I'd walked into the house and seen that she'd *killed* my children, odds are nearly 100% that I'd have taken a swing at her, and if there was something in my hand, I wouldn't have even known it. I'd just be glad it wasn't an ax or something.
yet, if the woman came home and killed the dad who had strangled the 4-yr old this story would be the feel-good story of the MSM. poor guy. he did the right thing, and should be given some kind of commendation.
I wouldn't call it the right thing -- but I can certainly understand why he did it -- if we make an allowance for a crime of passion, then this by definition gets that allowance.
Here is the thing, the court DOES NOT understand why he did it.
"a court-appointed guardian representing Mercey played a recording of the child reading a letter to the judge"
You can bet it wasn´t the daughter that wrote that letter, manipulating a child against her own father? May their black souls be tormented in the black river of Hades for the centuries of the centuries.
This man came home to a no-win situation. I'm sure he reacted out of pure rage when he saw what she had done. But even had he been spared the prosecution for his actions, as he should have been, his life was still ruined, and he'll never quite get over the pain. Mentally ill people can cause immense pain for the people who love them.
Lord, this is dreadful on every level.
It would scare me to death if I had to leave children with a mentally ill wife. I think Andrea Yates' husband would have someone helping his wife out with the children most of the time, but apparently one fatal time she was alone with them. What a nightmare for a child: Murdered by a monster mother who's supposed to protect them. I only hope that innocents like this can find Eternal Rest.
This is one of the times when I truly hope that Christians have it right, and there is an afterlife.
I can't imagine the pain this man is going through. His life is ruined.
Just awful.
To add injury to insult, looks like someone's been messing with the daughters' head, too -- or maybe the mother passed the crazy on to the daughter.
