If Democrat Jerrold Nadler has his way, we won’t have any of those nasty partisan fights about the debt limit in the future. Because he’s busy writing a bill that will solve the problem by simply doing away with the debt limit.
Voila! Spend as much as you want, President Obama.

Calling the debt limit “truly arbitrary” while blasting Republicans for playing a “dangerous game of chicken” with it, the liberal congressman said Wednesday he was drafting a bill to eliminate it.
“Let us abolish the debt ceiling, which has become a serious threat to our economic future and a pawn for Republicans intent on holding the economy hostage to impose their own extreme agenda,” he said in a statement.
Nadler also set his sights on credit-rating agency Standard & Poor’s, which last Friday issued the first ever downgrade of the nation’s once-sterling credit rating, setting off a tumultuous few days for financial markets.
No debt limit. It’s like having an open bar at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.

I got to be real and state that perhaps one can say a lot of things of Governor Christie as he himself is morbidly obese, however I have to believe that he is trying to do the right thing. Gov. Christie is trying to get people to be responsible and for the state to be responsible, so regardless of his own personal choices, he is looking out for the folks. This man, in my opinion, seeks to incorporate his personal undisciplined ways into how to run a country. He and people like him are out of control.
You do realize that part of the reason we are in such a financial mess is that he likely "expenses" all his meals to us!
Seriously though, if we let turnip heads like this keep up the spending spree, they will spend us into the same situation the as USSR circa 1950's and 1960's.

I wonder if he has children...? a wife? family? I wonder if he will be okay with them saying that there should be no limits to how much money and how many times they can ask him for money even if he doesn't have it...? It is all good when it is someone else's money but I am sure he wouldn't be so free with his own.

Congressman Nadler is right, but for the wrong reasons. If the debt limit is always raised, then there is no debt limit. The result of the recent debt limit debate is the incredibly stupid super-panel of congressman and senators. Raise the debt limit to $100 trillion and then deal with the budget and control spending. The House passed the Ryan budget. They also passed Cut, Cap and Balance. Pass the Mack-Penny plan and let the Senate pick one. If they don't, let the government shut down October 1. They would have offered three budgets to zero from the Senate.
