Political conservatism is merely a "school" of thought which is constantly seeking a moral justification for selfishness and cowardice. You people want the fed taxes to be $ 16,000.00 per year for a person who makes 50000 per year or 50,000,000.00 no matter what his or her income. This is so the former pays 32% and the richer of the two only pays 0.032% fed taxes. The way our tax laws are, we are very close to doing that now thanks to the Reagan Revolution and save for a few bubbles in the stock market we have more empty houses and more homeless thanks to supply side free market trash philosophy.
Obviously you never served in the military. Most conservatives either served themselves, or had a close family member serve. Obviously you've never had a business. He uses one of the libs' favorite "debating" tactics. I'm sure it has a name in debatology. It's where you take a position of your opposition to a ridiculous extreme way beyond anything anyone has ever suggested, and use that to "prove" your opponent wrong.
E.g., Oh so you're in favor of gun rights? Great! Let's just give loaded guns to all schoolchildren to take to school with them so they can just shoot each other every time they have an argument! Yeah, that's really smart!
That was the tactic used with the everyone paying 16,000 in taxes.
He used the same tactic in the previous post with the Somalia reference, implying that somehow Somalia is a libertarian paradise. And he even managed to get the gun issue in there in one fell swoop, too.
So basically, he's either lying, or he hopelessly misunderstands what libertarianism, and even conservatism, are. And there isn't much hope he ever will, since he apparently thinks (using the term VERY loosely), only in cliches.
