Apparently, the Democrats haven’t read a newspaper lately, because they don’t seem to know there’s a friggin’ recession going on.
After the majority party voted to approve a raise for federal employees, Rep. Michele Bachmann went to the floor of the House and ripped them each a new one. And just for good measure, she ripped a few big spending Republicans, too.
As Bachmann explained, this raise for overpaid federal employees will add another $2 billion to the already obscene deficit.
We’d say “It’s only money”, but to be more accurate we’ll amend that and say, “It’s only your money.”

Why does it make sense to balance the budget on federal employees who are (and statistics prove) overworked, and underpaid, but as soon as the rich are required to pay their fair share, "Mock-man" comes out and argues you can't balance the budget on the backs fo the rich. So, let's balance it on the back of the already struggling middle/lower classes that keep this country running. I am not suprised to see so many "igornant" comments supporting this joke of a candidate.
The middle class isn't suffering because of the so-called "rich" aren't paying enough taxes. The middle class is suffering because there are to few jobs and the cost of living has sky-rocketed. There are to few jobs because productive members of society are being punished by taxes and regulation so Obama can make sure his corporate cronies don't have to worry about the small man starting up a business and competing against them. The cost of living has skyrocketed because more money than wealth has been created over the last few years. This money was then used by Obama for vote buying schemes and to pay off his political pals. Thanks for letting me clear that up for you.
The rich pay most of the taxes but they're not paying their fair share? LOL. I've never been rich but often I think: Why do the people who pay little or nothing in taxes keep saying that those who fund most of the government aren't paying their fair share?
Today I handed over a check to my accountant for my quartly taxes (I pay on the quarterly because I am considered to be self employed even though I am retired because I accept no Social Security nor private pension, only the yearly disbursement of my portion of the licensing fees accrued from the licensing of my patents). Yes, I am wealthy. The check was for over 400K. Yet Barry et ilk would have me pay even more than that! They already have received the maximum FICA (both employee and employer portions) for more than 30 years, yet I will never collect a penny nor use Medicare. Why not get a little from everyone instead of a lot from a few?
Beauty and brains , a deadly combination . It is a sad situation , when our military doesnt receive a pay raise for their sacrifice , but the fat cats , and their fat asses get all the raises . DESPICIBLE
You Go GIRL!! And of all the people who should not have received a raise, the CONGRESS! They are incompetent at their jobs and if their jobs were private sector they all would have been fired by now. It seems to me that it is a conflict of interest for Congress to vote on their own raises. Is there not someway this can be altered?
The funny thing that a lot of these salaries are STILL being eating up in taxes in many cases. The government doesn't go easy on Federal Employees tax wise either. The benefits are great though especially in the military sector (which is not that bad considering wha the military has to do).
A lot of these department though do not deserve these hikes. There is union issues to consider and a lot of federal workers are hard to fire EVEN if they are lazy asses.
