Dems propose ‘Reasonable Profits Board’ to regulate oil company profits. Spaceman Kucinich (D-Uranus) and five co-idiots realized the cost of gas has doubled during the age of hopeless change and conjured this bullspit to deflect the blame to greedy oil companies while making the cause of the problem (the Democrats) seem like they’re trying to help. Political kabuki for the MSNBC crowd.

The federal tax on a gallon of gas is 18.4 cents a gallon.

For this money, the feds do nothing.
The oil companies make about 2 cents a gallon
/economy/2011/04/27/gasoline-taxes-vs-exxon-profit-per-gallon/.
With this money, the oil companies provide jobs, pay to ship the crude, pay to refine the crude, etc.
Now I have not included the state taxes in this rant, as you can look them up yourselves in the first link.
So my question is, WHO is making the most profit on a gallon of gas?
Now THAT'S obscene.
Early morning now and coffee smells great but is too hot to drink right now, so please forgive any erronium contained in the following; The gas tax used to be designated for use on the roads and travel related infrastructure. During the bubba admin he moved it into the general treasury, fattening his spendables and increasing the largess of his economic illusions.
And making it look like he had a budget surplus!
Details, details!
I've seen, on a few gas pumps, stickers with the breakdown of all the taxes on gas, so people would get an idea where their money was going. I think these should be everywhere, and much larger.
More Orwellian doublespeak from some of the biggest crooks out there. Of course they fail to mention that gasoline is taxed as a percentage of the total price, the higher the price, the higher the tax. So when these delusional leaches start penalizing companies for making a profit, once again the companies will leave the country.
It just dosen't get anymore stupid then this folks.
I think I need to go shower now.
O.M.F.G. Over in Britain, recently, there was a gag going around -sent to Members of Parliament, if I recall- that " '1984' was meant as a warning, not a blueprint!"
I think we've got the same shtick going on here, just substitute "Atlas Shrugged."
A "Reasonable Profits Board"???? Shirley, they can't be serious.
I believe that this may fall more in line with "Animal Farm". With Obama being Napoleon the pig, the rest of the Dems being pigs also, SEIU and the other unions are the dogs, businesses are the humans, and the MSM are the sheep.
Either way, Orewll had an uncanny grasp of socilaism/communism, and the foresight to know we were headed there on a runaway train. He just got the dates wrong.
Don't call me Shirley. And seeing as how they're serious, I'm beyond being worried about my yet to be born grand-children, you could say I'm starting to froth at the mouth a bit.
"It will give security to the people," said Eugene Lawson, his mouth slithering into a smile. "Security—that's what the people want. If they want it, why shouldn't they have it? Just because a handful of rich will object?... Those who're big are here to serve those who aren't. If they refuse to do their moral duty, we've got to force them. There once was an Age of Reason, but we've progressed beyond it. This is the Age of Love."
And Hope and Change!
To a true Progressive, no profit is 'reasonable'.
Unless it's THEIR profits.
