Detroit firefighters rely on pop cans for alerts

• The folks in Detroit can't figure out why their city is a shit hole that every tries to avoid or to leave.

• If parts of Detroit were to burn down, would anyone care? nope.....

  • In vast areas you could have a Chicago-fire-style conflagration that burned for days and never have the fire touch an occupied residence. Maybe that's why they use a fax machine:

    "Warning, fire is within ten blocks of occupied houses."

    "Warning, fire is within five blocks of occupied houses."

    "Warning, in two or three days we expect Engine 69 will have to respond to this thing... unless it rains."

• Good grief, I don't know whether to shake my head at the lack of money for the fire department or shake my head at the stupidity of the firefighters. A pop can that gets knocked over by an incoming fax? Really? You can't come up with something better than that? Nobody in the whole firehouse, well-paid city employees all, has a cellphone number they could give central dispatch? Sheesh. Sometimes I look at Detroit and think the Russians must have slipped something that lowers IQ into the water system.

  • The Russians had nothing to do with the dumbing down of the populace and the downfall of Detroit, you can blame 60+ years of progressive liberal policy and the unions for that. Then again, maybe you're onto something: progressives are wannabe Socialists, and as Lenin said "the goal of socialism is communism".

• Liberals, more destructive than nuclear weapons.
