Democrats & their cronies with their progressive agenda killed Detroit. Pure & simple. What's sad, is that California & Illinois are going to be in bigger holes then the Motor City. Because liberals/progressives never understand that what they are doing is wrong, they feel that they have not done enough yet. What's worse, the Dems at the national level with Obama, want to turn the entire nation into Detroit. Then we will all need the big gov't solution to the problems caused by big gov't in the 1st place.

Detroit is a test case to gauge the level of outrage that will come when we print and borrow more money to bail out California, New York, and Illinois for starters. You're right, these a$$holes wrecked the country and they think they can fix it by throwing more fake money at the mess they created. The real problem is Corporate Greed stealing our gold. They wouldn't be able to print endless money for these bailouts if our gold wasn't stolen.
