Ugh. Terrible links today. Just spent about half an hour over there trying to decipher it all. First off, the contracts were for 4.5 mil, not 450 mil. The 450 mil was number of rounds being optioned. Still disturbing, but sillyass crap like that is what damages our own credibility.
Actually, it's 2 contracts for $4.5 million each to Sig Sauer, and Heckler & Koch.
The contracts span 5 years each, and are for replacement parts for the weapons they already own.
There was no info given on ammo purchases that I saw in the article.
