Sideways, but falls into this whole topic if you step back and look. I can't articulate my thoughts well enough from my head to the page so it stays coherent, but go check out the pics of the FBI (?) vehicle they used to move in on the alleged (at that time) shooters house after the Sikh Temple shootings in Wis. They were able to deploy basically a freaking tank within hours?
They'll need at least a tank if they intend to gain control of any of the southern and "flyover" states. I say this because I have been to the local gun club machine gun shoot. There were everything from magazine fed to belt fed to BAR's to 3500 round per minute mini guns there, as well as grenade launchers. All in the hands of private citizens. Pretty impressive stuff. I would rather be with these freedom motivated people than the opposition.
That is the 2d Amendment at its core. Man, I'd love to fire full auto again.

They have regular gun and knife shows at the county fairgrounds.

Noticed the order was for BTHP ammo. That's boat tail hollow point. That ain't for target practice. That is accurate stopping power. Way too expensive compared to what is normally used to poke holes in paper. But then again, we are dealing with government so expense is no object - we'll just tax the rich some more - yeah that'll work. Dumbasses.
I'm not too worried about the ammo, I strongly suspect that they need that much because they're the gang that couldn't shoot straight. By the time they hit their intended target, they will have died of lead poisoning.
If someone needs 1/2 a ton of explosives to train a bomb sniffing dog, something tells me that dog isn't going to be much good at finding pipe bombs.
Sounds like the people at DHS got too close to their microwave oven with their tin foil hats on. Of course, that assumes they had brain cells to fry in the first place.
Maybe Mr Napolitano is planning a big party for his staff ala the GSA in Vegas and just wants a fireworks show at the end....The Department of Homeland Security is becoming a nut house, a well armed nut house.....
